As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will assist with the design, development and definition of launch vehicle and spacecraft fluid systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of creating detail and assembly drawings as well as 3-D models. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain fluid systems product definition by preparing design layouts and drawings, modifying existing designs and resolving design discrepancies

  • Apply Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly

  • Apply relevant company, industry (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, lay-out, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets)

  • Implement engineering and manufacturing best practices to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements

  • Support existing standards for product structure naming and organization

  • Self-prioritize and self-schedule work activity in support of the team

  • Assist in the development and deployment of reasonable standards for drafting. Act as a drafting standards checker for the team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an A.S. degree and 3+ years of recent experience designing/drafting aerospace, automotive structure's parts, components, or subsystems

  • Experience with Creo (Pro/Engineer); equivalent other software will be considered if all other required qualifications are met

  • Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software

  • Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings

  • Experience with ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, Y14.41

  • Familiar with existing applicable drafting standards

  • Experience with a PDM version control database

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

  • Drafting and designing routed systems and experience with Pro/E Piping

  • Designing for manufacturing and assembly

  • Launch vehicle or spacecraft fluid systems experience

  • Experience using GD&T for drawings in a development or production environment

You will share in the overall impact of manufacturing, testing, and delivering hardware for the New Glenn Orbital system. The primary responsibility will be to own individual component test campaigns, influencing the design of and resulting in qualified space components. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: * Work with a team of designers and responsible engineers to own or support development and qualification test campaigns of cryogenic, pressurized, and pneumatic flight hardware and assemblies (internally designed and supplier designed) to meet an aggressive development schedule. * Work with component owners (in-house or external suppliers) to inform the design from a test perspective. * Author and maintain detailed and repeatable test plans and procedures. * Define, procure, setup, and maintain test fixtures, test support equipment and data acquisition systems. * Conduct and/or oversee several test campaigns simultaneously to support development and qualification schedules. * Conduct data reviews to ensure successful component qualification. * Identify, communicate, and mitigate cost, schedule and technical risks. * Participate in Task Readiness Reviews and Job Hazard Assessments. Qualifications: * B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or other relevant field. * 3+ years of applicable industry experience. * Strong work ethic with a high attention to detail and level of organization. * Successfully managed simultaneous projects. * Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at the executive leadership level and on the shop floor. * Passion for spaceflight and space exploration. * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: * 5+ years of applicable industry experience. * Demonstrated technical expertise in operation, testing or production of: * Pressurized Gas Systems * Cryogenics * Fluid Systems * Instrumentation and controls * Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis, processing and reduction techniques. * Direct experience designing, operating or testing pneumatic and/or cryogenic hardware. * Strong knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and fittings. * Experience with data acquisition and automations systems (LABVIEW, NI TestStand, etc.). * Experience with Environmental Testing (proof, leak, vibration, thermal, etc.) per SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540D or MIL-STD-810G.
