Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for Contract Clinic Assistants who, perform patient/client intake, schedule appointments, perform data entry and process invoices and billing statements, perform patient outreach, and collaborate with patients and healthcare providers on patient self-management goals in support of the SHAPE Program.

SHAPE Program

The SHAPE program provides patients who experience complex care conditions with additional services in the Primary Care setting. These services include interventions that address the medical, social, behavioral health, functional impairment, and cultural and environmental factors affecting the health and health care choices available to program patients. This program seeks to assist patients in reducing avoidable use of emergency care and inpatient hospitalizations through provision of program services. Each program team consists of a Behavioral Health Clinician, an RN Care manager, a Clinical Assistant, and a Community Health Worker. This team works in coordination with each other and other clinic staff, including physicians to address each patient's individual needs.

This dynamic career opportunity offers a unique way to provide patient care and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patients with chronic disease processes and transitions of care within the population health management model.

This position is currently a contract position, with a full time schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.

Appointment: This is a contract position which does not obtain status as a regular County employee. Working as a contract employee does not preclude you from applying and competing for Regular positions within the County (Refer to the County of San Bernardino website for current open recruitments).

Work schedule: The work schedule is approximately 40 hours per week.

Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance is required for the individual providing the transportation. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Minimum Requirements:

Certification: Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Note: American Red Cross and the American Heart Association BLS certifications will be accepted.

  • AND-

Option 1: Experience: Six (6) months of full-time work experience assisting medical professionals with dressings, biopsies, treatments, procedures and performing screening tests in a medical environment within the past two (2) years.

  • OR-

Option 2: Education: Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program.

Ensures that participants are ready to be seen by nurses and physicians in an appropriate state. * Assists physicians and nurses with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments that they have been trained and competency on, may assist in medical procedures as requested by staff within skill and ability.
