• Supervisory position.

• Responsibilities include operation, mechanics and maintenance of pools, facility and equipment.

• Measures chemical & temperature readings, balances chemicals as needed, fills chemical feeders with proper amounts according to usage, assists with backwashing of filters, weighs in chlorine on deck chlorinator and heavy lifting.

• Completes routine and preventative maintenance and minor repairs on pumps and motors.

• Makes minor repairs to pipe for motors and pools.

• Requires standing for long periods of time and working in the elements.

• Mustdeal with the public in a professional manner.

• Must attend in-service training as assigned.

• May be required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of assigned tasks.

• Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor(s).

Individuals assigned to this classification must report to work per their assigned schedule. Parks and Recreation staff must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED required.

• A minimum one (1) year experience in pool maintenance, pool water testing, and equipment maintenancerequired.

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to be able to communicate effectively with others.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) required within sixty (60) days of hire.

• Must be at least 18 years of age for chemical handling.

• Must have a valid Florida Driver's License or a valid State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Florida Driver's License within thirty (30) days of hire.
