Job Summary

Lead contracting/sourcing team under direction of corporate leadership to achieve Strategic goals Develop team goals and ensure there are resources to execute and achieve Work collaboratively with Value Analysis team to provide for more efficient, seamless implementation of projects and opportunities

Responsibilities

  • This position will be responsible for day to day management of a contracting/sourcing team that works closely with various levels of staff and leadership within the organization to achieve goals. This role will lead initiatives, as well as integrate systems and processes that support the Vandalia Health networks mission and goals. • Evaluating sourcing procedures and presenting improvement strategies to Director and/or Corporate leadership for approval. • Analyzing and calculating procurement costs and developing cost reduction strategies for supplies and non-labor as needed. • Driving purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis, as well as market trends. • Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service, and quality. • Collaborating with the Value Analysis department as well as the procurement department to identify and pursue new supplier opportunities. • Conducting market research, as well as creating cost estimates and forecasts. • Hiring, training, and managing contracting analysts. • Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques, as well as negotiating contracts that comply with industry regulations. • Maintaining strategic sourcing relationships and developing strong partnerships. • Ensure organizations ISO/DNV/JCAHO and other regulatory requirements are met.

    Level of Experience: 10 years contract analysis and negotiation experience Management/Leadership experience preferred Effective communication skills. The incumbent will represent Supply Chain Management in various departmental and committee meetings. Must demonstrate the ability to drive change.

    Must have a financial and business acumen, proven leadership skills, be highly self-directed, a continuous learner and team player. Should maintain a high level of respect with system staff, administration and physicians. Software: Microsoft Office, Intermediate to Advanced Excel, Purchasing system May substitute: Masters Degree with 5 years contract management experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9. Perform related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) May substitute: Masters Degree with 5 years contract management experience
