Job Summary

Responsible for all aspects of account contracts supporting commercial teams and partner closely with internal departments by providing accurate and timely contract assistance. The position handles the entire contract process form pre-contract through post-signature phases and collaborates with the sales team and internal departments to ensure staff is informed of new contracts and changes or updates to existing contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Offer recommendations and engage in negotiations to modify terms and conditions, effectively mitigating risks for the company.

  • Deliver regular contract status updates to internal teams.

  • Thoroughly review and refine contracts received from clients, overseeing the signature process.

  • Responsively address Requests for Proposal, Information, and Quotes (RFP/RFI/RFQ).

  • Evaluate the necessity for contract amendments and provide strategic guidance to key stakeholders.

  • Formulate, assess, and implement policies and procedures.

  • Develop, assess, and maintain departmental desk procedures.

  • Serves as a liaison between internal and external parties during contract development, negotiation, and execution stages.

  • Coordinates for commercial team members on all aspects of account contracts to ensure all contracts are properly reviewed, redlined, or revised for compliance with business terms and channeled through the company's contract approval procedure in a timely manner.

  • Interacts with finance team to ensure contract terms conform to pricing model and final approved pricing is included in the contract.

  • Administers and analyzes purchase contracts within the contract management database, assuring accurate data entry of contract specifications and terms into the database and completeness of all contracting processes.

  • Negotiates business terms and conditions within the scope of responsibility. Ensuring contract provisions are clear and conform to company policy. Facilitating the approval process of all contract documents from pre-contract through post-signature phases as necessary.

  • Maintains processes that provide timely notification of critical contract events (e.g. renewals, termination, and due dates contained within the agreements).

  • Reviews and updates or extends existing contracts; prepares amendments.

  • Acts as a liaison to Pricing Committee and in-house executive management on all account contract issues.

  • This role may be involved in government contracting.

  • Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.

  • Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.

  • Represents the company in a professional manner and upholding the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of the company.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field is required; may consider an equivalent of relevant business experience and education.

  • 2-3 years of experience in a contract administration, paralegal, or similar position preferred. Specific experience with medical devices is a plus.

  • Comprehensive understanding of standard contract terms and conditions, coupled with strong contract drafting, reviewing, and editing skills.

  • Proven expertise in Adobe Acrobat.

  • Profound proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, including document properties, comparisons, and track changes.

  • Excellent problem resolution skills, written and verbal communications skills, and consistently display a high level of professional conduct.

  • Results-driven, able to self-direct and work independently while showing initiative.

  • Demonstrated strong critical thinking and analytical prowess.

  • Experience in a regulated medical product development and manufacturing environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including optimism, diplomacy, and flexibility, and the ability to interface effectively with personnel at many different levels throughout the company and with our customers and other business partners.
