Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Contract Administrator to be based in San Francisco, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Contract Officer with the administration of consultant and contractor contracts on a $2B rail transit public sector program.

  • Draft task orders including scope, budget and schedule requirements

  • Draft contract amendments

  • Review consultant and contractor requests for compliance with contract terms and conditions

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with public contracts and governmental procurement processes

  • Experience working with a public transit agency

  • Working understanding of MS Office applications

  • Strong written communication skills

Additional Information

  • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $87,778.7 - $162,390.59

The candidate will also play a major role in interfacing with clients, contractors, and mentoring junior staff. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in administration of construction contracts and be able to work with multiple procurement methods including design-bid-build, design build, and other mechanisms. The successful candidate will understand public construction contracting and be able to participate in the procurement through construction phases of a project. They will be able to resolve construction problems, work well in a team environment, and have superior communication skills. There may be an opportunity to transition this role into a construction management position. This is an opportunity to be part of a dynamic office in a healthy market focused on infrastructure development.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Support an owner's team overseeing construction of infrastructure projects from procurement through construction as a contract administrator. Participate in the preparation of contract and bidding documents.</p></li><li><p>After award of construction contracts, serve in an advisory role where the owner's CM staff are integrated with Delve Underground's field staff, or where our CM team has full responsibility for construction management duties (not integrated with owner staff)</p></li><li><p>Assist client in resolving construction problems and develop approaches to avoid, address, and evaluate contractor claims</p></li><li><p>Participate in construction management teams to ensure that goals and/or objectives are accomplished by administrating construction contracts with respect to reporting requirements, invoicing, change requests, and other administrative aspects</p></li><li><p>Manage single or multiple construction contracts concurrently</p></li><li><p>Support construction management staff in reviews of contractor submittals, RFI's, change requests, and correspondence and provides guidance to client</p></li><li><p>Facilitate regular construction progress meetings involving designer, contractor, owner, and third-party personnel</p></li><li><p>Prepare memoranda and correspondence related to construction correspondence and either signs the documents or drafts on behalf of the owner for their signature</p></li><li><p>Monitor and report on progress of construction</p></li></ul><p>Qualifications:</p><ul><li><p>BS in Business, Engineering, Science, Architecture, Construction Management, or other related field.</p></li><li><p>Construction contract administration or construction management experience with owner, consultant, or contractor is required</p></li><li><p>Experience with commercial and administrative aspects of construction contracts is required</p></li><li><p>Minimum 7+ years related experience in construction.
