The Missile Defense & Protective Systems Division of Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation has an opportunity for a rising mid-level Contracts professional to support a diverse portfolio of International, Commercial, and DoD contracts within the Air Command and Control (AirC2) Operating Unit of the Strategic Systems Business Unit. The successful candidate will possess leadership qualities, global perspective and be able to provide responsible advice and counsel on a wide range of moderately complex contractual and business issues under moderate supervision and perform in all phases of the contract life cycle.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for many aspects of a diverse portfolio spanning cradle to grave activities through closeout, delivering customer satisfaction, building customer relationships and timely responses to both external and internal customers. Demonstrating experience with a global outlook, diversity and inclusion is key.
This position will also require frequent internal company and external contacts, representing the Contracts organization on specific aspects of a program. Assessing situations and making appropriate recommendations and/or taking appropriate actions. Responsibility for prioritizing tasks/proposal activities and working on multiple tasks simultaneously is key.
Ensuring that contractual risks are identified and mitigated with appropriate contract provisions. The selected candidate will serve as key business advisor to the program manager on contractual and operational matters related to assigned portfolio items. Planning and executing successful contract negotiations of a moderately complex nature and achieving targeted profit rates as well as favorable terms and conditions to assist in mitigating risk and meeting overall financial goals.
Successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, will seek requisite management guidance as necessary and will report directly to the Operating Unit Contracts Manager. Responsibility includes being able to make decisions in a timely manner under tight deadlines and pressure, offers guidance and work collaboratively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, global supply chain, global mobility office and security for seamless contract administration.
This position can be based out of Redondo Beach, CA or McLean,Va.
Bachelor's with 3 years of experience in Contract administration or related field or 1 years with a Masters degree.
Ability to apply sound judgment to proposal strategy, contract formation and customer relationships.
Exceptional organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Secret clearance or ability to obtain one is a plus.
