The CI Tech completes accurate random inspections and quality testing starting with set up through the shipping process. He or she instructs production personnel on quality policies & procedures. They maintain accurate records of tests, inspections and other information vital to quality control tracking. Identifies non-standard conditions, assists in corrective action, and confirms that corrective action is implemented. Periodically insures that gauges and inspection equipment are in good working order and properly calibrated. He or she ensures compliance with established customer quality and production standards. They understand and align plant operations & production with the Sales Support group as he/she executes their role in the overall order fulfillment process to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.

  • Communicates with employees on proceeding and succeeding shifts to establish process stability and to ensure smooth transition between shifts.

  • Verifies the quality of product visual assessment and random inspection using specific testing tools.

  • Maintains accurate records of all tests and inspections.

  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP and food defense procedures (Training will be provided)

  • Responsible for other duties and essential tasks as they are needed.

Required Skills

  • 5 years related trade school training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet skills required.

  • Ability to accurately read measuring devices.

  • Ability to accurately read product specifications and test procedures.

  • Ability to read and follow detailed operating procedures and quality standards.

  • Must work well independently or in groups.

  • Leadership skills and ability to interact with others.

  • Quality Control and or product inspection.

  • Testing equipment experience to include measurements, weight, and durability.

  • Auditing and or inventory.

  • 40-hour work week with occasional overtime

  • Mon - Fri occasional weekends

  • 5% Travel

They will drive change through focused CI efforts to higher levels of performance in safety, quality, performance, cost and growth each and every day. Effectively utilizing lean and engineering methodologies, tools, root cause analysis and waste reduction with a bias for action, this high influence position will interface with employee at all levels and various functions across the business and within a facility. Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives. Makes Inventory and/or Supply Chain strategy recommendations * Design, implement, monitor and maintain the QMS based on established company and/or industry standards. Implement and monitor a standardized corrective action system. Support regulatory compliance and certification requirements. Perform all functions related to Quality Assurance for a start-up or expansion * Collects data and performs statistical analysis. Maps and documents processes. Independently identifies process gaps; recommends and implements process improvement. Works on complex problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Establishes and implements performance measures. Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives. Establishes and implements performance measures. Work with site leadership to conduct assessments of critical site and business needs. Develop a thorough effective and timely continuous improvement plan to address the top business needs at Ryder sites (transformation plan development and execution). Drive process improvement activities to achieve dramatic improvement in the key business metrics of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee development * Provide formal and informal training, coaching, mentoring to Ryder associates: must be able to translate Business System concepts to local situations and help individuals and teams progress in understanding and correct application for sustainable business improvements. Assisting and/or leading the execution of Lean Assessments. Completes event planning, perform pre-work, facilitates teams and supports events (includes; start-ups, expansion & closure). Follow-up on events and audit compliance to lean plans to prevent backsliding. Supports continuous improvement deployment using fundamentals of lean. Completes CI projects that lead to improved business results.
