The CBS leader is a key part of the CP&S team. This position is responsible for leading the execution of breakthrough operational improvement activities across the organization under the direction of a CBS manager. The role is a developmental assignment for a high potential individual. They will be expected to achieve a mastery of lean manufacturing techniques, and lead the execution of those techniques to improve the bottom line of the business while having no direct reports.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop a mastery of key lean manufacturing techniques, and demonstrate the ability to execute those techniques throughout the organization.
Assist the CBS Manager in constructing and executing the continuous improvement roadmap for CP&S operations in Piqua, OH.
Facilitate continuous improvement kaizen events, at a frequency of no less than two per month. The candidate must be skilled at facilitating continuous improvement events to:
Effectively use every minute of the participant's time.
Deliver the targeted results at the targeted completion time for each event.
Sustain operational gains from each event
Work with managers and employees across the organization to drive adherence to lean manufacturing principles in daily operations.
This is a non-supervisory position, but requires the building of strong working relationships with managers across the organization.
Maintain and track measurements for the success of continuous improvement initiatives led by the candidate; and throughout CP&S.
Assist in development of systems that drive continuous improvement in all areas of CBS including but not limited to:
New product development
Qualifications and Experience
Strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity and change.
Track record of driving lean initiatives in operations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with key PC software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
Process Improvement experience
Analytical skills and understanding of problem solving techniques/tools
Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor and coach
Ability to work effectively with Senior Leadership
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred
