Your Role

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will lead the Lean culture at Atlas Copco. You will be an expert resource for the business with a focus on process improvement and metric guided decision-making. You will work with all internal departments at our New Hudson facility and work with our U.K. facility to ensure consistency and common methodology across the organization. You will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.

This will be located in New Hudson, Michigan.

Essential Duties

• You will be the primary on site resource for Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

• You will facilitate and develop on-site Lean trainings.

• You will coach teams on Lean tools.

• You will consult Lean training events for the U.K. facility.

• You will facilitate and organize 5S and Kaizen events.

• You will review and coordinate implementation of improvement suggestions for operations.

• You will lead improvement action teams and activities.

• You will improve business metrics measuring cost, productivity and efficiency.

• You will identify opportunities for improvement in productivity, waste reduction, safety/ergonomics, etc.

• You will facilitate process improvements in multiple departments.

• You will complete and manage process flow and value stream map documents.

• You will promote standardization of current processes and documentation.

To succeed, you will need

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Good communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

• Able to communicate across all levels of the organization.

• Experienced in delivering training and leading Lean events.

• Willingness to share knowledge and teach proper methods and procedures.

• Knowledge of Lean tools.

• Process oriented mindset.

• Effective analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to implement standards.

• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office products.

• Ability to travel locally as needed.

Education and Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering, business, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience of 5+ years in process improvement may be considered.

• Minimum 3 years experience training and implementing Lean tools in a manufacturing environment required.

• Completed training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

• Must be able to legally work in the U.S. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
