Apply excellent functional knowledge of process improvement methodology to lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement (CI) activities targeted at cost reduction, productivity and process optimization, and/or quality performance achievement. Evaluate process improvement opportunities, define process metrics, and develop improvement plans. Coordinate with other departments to identify and prioritize process improvements to achieve operational excellence. Be a daily advocate of benefits of continuous improvement while dealing with various perceptions of the tools and their ability to impact the organization.
Apply strong functional knowledge of process improvement methodology to analyze and interpret manufacturing processes and data. Analyze trends or variations in order to define problems and drive solutions.
Develop and implement short-term and long-term plans to improve product and process quality, cycle time, productivity, and equipment downtime.
Strong functional understanding of the eight wastes and their impact on the organization.
Experience using structured problem solving tools (DMAIC, PDCA, etc.)
Monitors site metrics, develops and implements improvement plans.
Assists manufacturing with reducing process variation and increased process efficiency.
Facilitate team meetings and lead teams to implement methods of measuring and holding gains in processes.
Facilitate training on continuous improvement methods and use of statistical analysis.
Gathers, analyzes and interprets data through inspection and evaluation of current processes.
Prepares reports, charts, tables and other visual aids to summarize operations and highlight findings.
Manages and leads improvement projects to a documented, verifiable completion.
Communicates in a professional, positive and courteous manner at all times with all levels of the business.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Some travel is required based on site and/or platform improvement projects assigned.
Bachelor degree in engineering, management or a related field and 5-7 years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
Able to demonstrate the ability to solve complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the job. Ability to identify trends and patterns in identifying causation issues and creating solutions to address issues. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
Must be able consistently identify critical elements, variables, anomalies and alternatives to develop and lead in delivering solutions. Must be able to organize/prioritize existing resources and incorporate new information, as needed, to implement the most effective solutions. Able to apply excellent business acumen and collaborative skills when resolving problems.
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively in a team environment.
Excellent project management and facilitation skills. Green Belt, Black Belt or Project Management certification preferred. Self-motivated and strong sense of urgency with ability to establish priorities and effectively manage time to complete tasks within specific timeframes. Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, coaching and organization skills. Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the business including senior management.
Able to apply excellent functional computer knowledge in utilizing Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power point), or other technical tools such as project management software in completing assignments. May require knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn specialized software related to the position. Able to apply expertise in all the tools or applications used to complete work assignments.
