Major Responsibilities

  • Maximize the performance of the Perris facility by creating innovative process improvement solutions, and training and promoting the adoption of best practices and standard operating procedures.

  • Ability to develop and sustain effective cross-functional working relationships with leaders to influence and align people at all levels to support performance objectives.

  • Partner with, coach, or lead team members in the use of structured improvement system techniques like Lean, TQM, Six Sigma and other techniques.

  • Ability to take strong and sometimes contrary positions when required.

  • Identify, recommend, and implement new process improvements, supply chain opportunities, technological enhancements and workflow efficiencies. Sell and influence positive change in the organization.

  • Promote a culture that fosters innovation and sharing best practices between functions.

  • Develop significant improvement plans and goals for operational entities.

  • Leverage expertise in measurement, data collection, analysis and interpretation to facilitate decision making or change management.

  • Find synergies and best practices among the multiple functions that drive cost savings, improve processes, quality and consistency of the customer experience.

  • Manages people, processes, budgets, performance management, compliance activities, and associate development as required by the job.

  • Understands and demonstrates Company's core values.

  • Ensures proper safety focus and required safety processes/training are implemented.

  • Maintains functional plans around workforce training, communications planning, and operational change management planning.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate thoughts and sell ideas

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Research or related discipline required.

  • Minimum five years of job related experience required.

VIEW JOBS 10/30/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-28T00:00 Job Description The Operations Manager is responsible for inbound or outbound operations or a functional process responsibility within the Fulfillment Center (FC). This role will ultimately be responsible for day-to-day operation of the functional area with emphasis on management of the personnel and managing and improving the flow of goods in and out of the FC. This position reports to the General Manager. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Lead and supervise team of front line supervisors and hourly employees in outbound or inbound operations in FC. * Develop strategic planning in conjunction with the General Manager to ensure the efficient and cost effective operation and utilization of the facility. * Develop and implement shipping and/or receiving work schedules and assignments to assure effective and efficient operations. * Supervise all inbound and/or outbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion. * Implement, and maintain compliance with, company and OSHA guidelines to create and maintain a safe working environment for all employees. * Actively support and participate in all safety initiatives in the FC. * Prevent associate incident and injury by overseeing accident investigations, assessing root cause analysis and implementing necessary improvements to policies and procedures. * Perform safety observations to coach and counsel employees on safety procedures. * Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures. * Manage all aspects of employee performance and development including; employee relation issues, rewards and recognition, discipline; problem resolution and terminations. * Assists in developing and motivating personnel for increased effectiveness. * Develop and share best practices across the shifts and other similar facilities. * Makes recommendations to the General Manager on programs to improve operations. Requirements: * High School diploma or GED required * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field preferred * 5+ years management experience in a fulfillment center, distribution, manufacturing or production environment * Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques. * Experience with (Manhattan) Warehouse Management System preferred * Computer applications using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint). * Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons. * Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations. * Requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment. * Strong time management, organizational, planning and self-motivation skills. * Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred, not required. Other: * Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed by the customer. * Ability to relocate for future opportunities. * Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours. * Lift and move totes up to 50 pounds. * Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head. * Walking in the FC and around area with great frequency; facilities are over a quarter mile in length. * NFI Industries Perris CA
