Premier Placements is currently hiring a *Continuous Improvement Engineer* to join a Manufacturing company in Reidsville, NC. The Engineer will be responsible for maximizing performance improvement and cost savings by proactively identifying areas for improvement, leading initiatives, and projects, utilizing continuous improvement tools and techniques, analyzing and reporting key data, communicating continuous improvement activities, and training associates to accomplish the same. In addition, this position will identify process improvement opportunities using lean manufacturing methods, six-sigma, and other problem-solving tools, and will drive continuous improvement activities as required.

*Work Schedule:*

Monday- Friday 7:00am- 4:00pm

Salary:$110,000 - $125,000 + relocation+ yearly bonus

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

* Oversee all technical aspects of assigned manufacturing processes to ensure most efficient and productive performance, and adherence to procedures and quality standards.

* Evaluates, recommends, and implements change to current manufacturing processes for higher productivity by analyzing process, production, machine capacity/capability, labor standards, material cost, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.

* Appraise and develop innovative and pragmatic solutions to manufacturing problems using advanced manufacturing principles and techniques.

* Deliver accurate and timely project progress and results tracking.

* Create standard work, and work instructions to communicate manufacturing requirements to production personnel.

* Analyze and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

* Improves and enhances products and process by applying continuous improvements and lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to critical or high-impact areas of production.

* Ensure product and process quality by design testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements.

* Will be required to manage multiple projects simultaneously, changing priorities to align with changing

Requirements

* 5+ years of manufacturing lean/continuous/process improvement experience

* BS in Engineering Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or related discipline preferred

* Lean Six-Sigma Green or Black belt certification preferred

* Project Management (PMP) certification preferred

* Subject Matter Expert in Lean Six Sigma and related methodologies for the continuous improvement of processes

* Experience with formal project management process

*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES*

* Ability to apply various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to: Process Capabilities, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R)

* Ability to drive improvements using data

* Ability to multi-task and have excellent time management

* Read and process information with high degree of accuracy

* Communicate and coordinate effectively with employees verbally and in writing

The Production Manager works collaboratively with the Plant and directly manages the Production and Production Administration functions of the plant under the direction of the Plant Manager. He/she manages all production shift supervisors. He/she ensures that production is scheduled and conducted within the guidelines established by Good Manufacturing Practices, producing products which meet or exceed customer and company quality expectations in a safe environment and that costs, efficiencies and volume targets are maintained at or better than budgeted or standard levels. He/she assists the Plant Manager in leading the plant’s effort in continuous improvement including, but not limited to food safety, the controlling or reduction of direct and variable product costs and overhead, and the development of the shift supervisors. The role functions as the plant’s management representative in the absence of the Plant Manager.</p><p><strong>We are hiring for 1st and 2nd shift!</strong></p><p><strong>Work Schedule:</strong> 1st Shift 6am – 3:30pm and 2nd Shift 3:00pm – 12:30am.</p><p>Monday – Friday with the flexibility to work at least 2 weekends a month and past set work schedule when needed.</p><p>Yearly Bonus, Relocation Assistance, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K Benefits and more.</p><p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p><ul> <li>Manages supports and is responsible for the Production and Production Administration functions of the plant to ensure service to customers is met.</li> <li>Manages the activities of the Shift Supervisors to assure the appropriate operation of the various production lines in a manner that promotes a safe working environment, minimizes downtime, promotes employee involvement, respects food safety programs, and reduces cost.</li> <li>Coordinates the activities of the Maintenance Personager and Production area personnel to assure the appropriate maintenance of the plant production equipment that minimizes downtime through pro-active practices such as predictive and preventative measures rather than re-active maintenance.</li> <li>Works closely with the QA Department and Plant Manager in developing and implementing plans and policies to ensure that the plant operates in accordance with FDA guidelines and corporate established Good Manufacturing Practices.</li> <li>Coordinates the timely implementation of plant-related cost savings and productivity improvements.</li> <li>Collaborates with Human Resources to forecast long-range plant production, employee resource requirements, and oversees, production employee resource planning for the plant with attention to labor cost containment.</li> <li>Works closely with Production Supervisors to develop realistic and manageable cost center budgets and assure expense control within budgeted guidelines. When overspent situations occur in the Production area, develops the appropriate steps to get back to budget in the appropriate categories.</li> <li>Guarantees that Production area employees have the responsibility, authority, and funding necessary to maintain a safe workplace, utilize and maintain safe equipment, have adequate safety supplies, have adequate PPE, administer training, and implement programs, practices, and safety policies as appropriate.</li> <li>Confirms that all aspects of the Safety Program are functioning adequately in the Production area. Training, Rules and Policy Conformance, Inspections and Hazard elimination, Accident Investigations and follow up, and Safety Committee/Employee Communication.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Degree in Manufacturing Management, Industrial or related field.</li> <li>Five years of increasing responsibility in a high-speed food or beverage manufacturing environment.</li> <li>Prefer experience in both union and non-union working environments working closely with Human Resources on labor-related issues and exposure to collective bargaining agreements and wage analysis.</li> <li>Experience operating within relevant regulatory requirements, e.g., FDA, OSHA, EPA, USDA, EEO, etc., Quality Assurance/Control and Cost Systems.</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>Excellent Benefit Package includes Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, relocation assistance and yearly bonuses.</p> Premier Placements Reidsville NC
