Position Summary:

  • Responsible for managing all facility quality programs and implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) methods such as Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen to drive out waste and improve productivity including:

  • Responsible for fostering the professional development of facility leads, supervisors, and managers by being a leading, proactive change agent that drives a CI culture.

  • Responsible for improving product quality from process through production by identifying and improving current inspection systems, quality operating procedures, and material and finished goods inspection requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate management team to identify and develop annual improvement plans consistent with and in support of the strategic plan and business operating plan. Identify goals for CI events and potential quantifiable savings.

  • Facilitate the selection, scope, and planning of specific improvement projects.

  • Develop training materials and effectively deliver those materials in a team environment to ensure employees throughout the facility are trained in CI concepts and philosophy.

  • Resolve implementation issues, creating and managing implementation communication. processes, and ensuring consistency of implemented processes and programs throughout facility.

  • Manage and take a lead role in promoting and improving quality processes, expectations, and results.

  • Maintain Standard Work instructions, SOPs and 5S checklists.

  • Develop & carry out Lean training for all employees.

  • Work closely with the GM to understand and improve the business.

  • Develop visual methods to measure improvement and monitor processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

Must have teaching skills and the ability to teach LEAN manufacturing to various levels of employees.

Sense of urgency and self-motivation; ability to work independently

Ability to motivate employees to achieve results

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Computer literacy with ability to learn new computer software programs

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present to senior management

Attention to detail with strong organizational skills

Must have proven employee development and team building skills

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Management.
  • 4 years of experience related to continuous improvement or similar project management.
  • 5 years working in a manufacturing environment, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.

Relocation available for the right candidate.</p><p><strong>Position Objectives:</strong><br></p> <ul> <li> <em>Functional Leadership</em> – Work with the executive management team and operations team leaders to create a strategy that can be implemented across the plant network &amp; subsidiary organizations. Accountable for measuring and providing updates to leadership on the implementation of the strategy and the impact on CI performance.Lead all facets in driving continuous improvement by identifying and improving the outcomes of manufacturing and supply chain processes.</li> <li> <em>Functional Excellence</em> – Provide functional leadership to management at all locations. This includes ongoing direction, support, and consultation to management personnel at locations regarding CI. Evaluate and upgrade capabilities through the implementation of standard selection practices and through recommended professional development and training programs.</li> <li> <em>Culture Change Management</em> – Lead change across a large organization and implement appropriate change management strategies to ensure that the organization is able to embrace and implement the strategy and associated tactics.</li> <li> <em>People Development</em> – Invest time and energy into the development of direct reports.
