Continuous Improvement Engineering Manager

Salary up to $125,000 + Great Benefits & Paid Relocation to Central California

Food Processing Company seeks an energetic & enthusiastic Continuous Improvement professional who has experience in the implementation of Lean initiatives on the operations side at all levels of the manufacturing plant. At this plant, youll be looking at the processing operations, using Lean & CI methodologies to design improvements, communicating the plans, and implementing the changes.

Your main goal is to facilitate improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost and assist in the development of training materials, as well as, planning, facilitating and implementing Kaizen activities. Youll be responsible for daily implementation of Lean tools throughout the plant and will coordinate and lead opportunities for improvement. You can use Fishbone, Value Stream Mapping, Bottleneck Analysis, PDCA, or any other tool in your CI tool box!

We need someone who is passionate about Continuous Improvement and making our plant leaner & more profitable while we increase our quality and do it all safely! We need a great communicator to explain the plans & get everyone on board!

Youll be site Change Agent and Lean SME!

In addition to a salary up to $125,000, youll get big company benefits and a great paid relocation package to Central California! The facility is located in a city large enough to have cool amenities & a social scene, but small enough to be affordable!

Requirements for this Continuous Improvements Engineering Manager position:

At least 3 years implementing Lean and or Continuous improvements in a Food Processing Facility

Bachelors degree, prefer engineering discipline

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading all facets associated with driving continuous improvement efforts within EP Minerals' operations. The role's main focus is to identify and improve the outcomes of mining, manufacturing and other operational processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and increase customer satisfaction. Job Functions: * Lead or coordinate key cross-functional improvement teams across the company * Ensure all improvement initiatives have clearly defined goals and benefits * Develop metrics to measure progress toward successful implementation of projects in the portfolio * Identify and take immediate corrective action to resolve any shortfalls; to plan through regular meetings with operations managers and staffs. * Ensure that resource deployment is adequate to achieve agreed upon results. * Maintain a high team commitment to achieving project results * Drive continuous improvement culture throughout EP Minerals * On occasion perform Operations roles across the network; could include covering for operations leaders (Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, etc.) who are on vacation or on special projects * Standardize tools, training and framework for continuous improvement * Assess and drive improvement in continuous improvement tools and practices, benchmarking externally, to ensure business needs are being met * Assist mines, plants and other operational teams by improving operational excellence * Conduct continuous improvement and problem-solving training to develop a Continuous Improvement Program that drives business excellence * Partner with Finance to analyze cost trends and present findings to Ops leadership team * Partner with Mining, Quality, Engineering, RCM and EHS teams on projects and analysis * Develop, execute and manage master scheduling efforts to improve on-time delivery to our customers * Serve as the internal technical expert for the practical application of continuous improvement and problem-solving tools and techniques * Perform internal and external benchmarking, analysis, target setting, and publishing of key performance indicators (KPI) Requirements Education: * Minimum BS/BA Degree, preferably in engineering or chemistry Job Skills: * Minimum 10 years of mining or industrial experience with at least five years experience in business improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing preferred * Experience in an industrial minerals, mining or chemical manufacturing environment preferred. * Skilled in Change Management * Experience in manufacturing environment, supply chain and quality systems * Experience with continuous improvement tools (e.g. Lean, SPC, statistical analyses, problem solving, benchmarking, running kaizens, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, Kanban, A3's, DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve control) * Excellent project management and organizational skills * Strong analytical and decision-making skills including forecasting ability, measuring the success of team members, monitoring team and individual goals and sharing success factors with the team * Exhibit strong statistical skills to drive continuous improvement in material and labor efficiency improvement projects Ability: * Proven ability to establish, maintain and influence effective working relationships with internal and external customers * Capable of delivering results through influencing peers inside and outside of the operations team * Infectious enthusiasm, strong persuasive skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, personable, and a team player -Must have prior leadership experience US Silica Reno NV
