This role will focus on:
The Continuous Improvement Lead plays a crucial role in organization by driving initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, productivity, and quality. Therefore, this role will be pivotal in shaping Watson-Marlow Americas Manufacturing Operational Excellence journey.
The Continuous Improvement Lead will provide the leadership and coordination of all continuous improvement activities across WMAMI. This role seeks to build a sustainable continuous improvement culture using proven methodologies including Six Sigma, Lean thinking and practices.
What you'll be doing
Evaluate existing processes to identify areas for improvement.
Use data-driven analysis to pinpoint inefficiencies and develop strategies to address them. Undertake local continuous improvement investigations, taking a risk reward approach
Reporting against KPI's for compliance
Provide support to tall departments and work closely with design, production and process engineers
Facilitate structured continuous improvement projects
Initiating and developing the continuous improvement and operational excellence framework
Guide others on Lean principles, methods and tools etc.
Record, track and report successes together with measurable improvements & savings gained
Assist in the development to the Operational Excellence Roadmap
Directly provide formal and informal Operational Excellence training and coaching
Active Leader in Business Planning and Daily management reviews as appropriate
Ensure successful kaizen by implementing good kaizen process and procedure including:
Planning of kaizen activities with a dynamic funnel process tied to the business plan and needs
Kaizen execution
Sustainment of results
Promote, facilitate, coach and diagnose workflow impediments and wastes and provide support to the team on problem solving and improvement activities
Benchmark and incorporate best practices from other WM locations as appropriate
Work with other departments in the design and development of business processes, manufacturing cells, production aids, equipment, jigs and fixtures as needed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Current or prior Lean / continuous improvement experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering or business or equivalent
Project Management experience
6 Sigma Green belt or Black belt preferred
Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions and create action plans for implementing solutions
Strong problem-solving ability
Highly motivated and results focused
Resilient and ability to influence and lead others
Good written and verbal communication
