We have three manufacturing facilities and multiple retail showrooms. As a part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a Continuous Improvement Lead to join our team!

Position Overview:

Responsible for leading the overall LEAN implementation at the Stickley Fine Upholstery plant in Archdale, NC, that results in improved factory labor efficiencies, improved material & product flow, reduced production waste, improved first pass yield (FPY), implementation of visual controls and 6S and supports the overall multi-year growth plan for the Archdale facility.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Prior experience leading LEAN initiatives

• Solid understanding of Lean principles

• Prior experience leading cost optimization activities

• Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to collaborate well

• Self-motivated / self-directed

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Willingness to challenge the status quo

• Ability to work effectively in a changing environment

Required Education:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering / technical discipline

Desired Experience / Skills:

• Prior experience in furniture manufacturing or related industries

• Greenbelt/Blackbelt training

Travel:

• Minimal

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead site LEAN implementation efforts to achieve strategic goals

• Implement 6S / Visual Management

• Plan and facilitate Kaizen events, facilitate site Value Stream Mapping activities

• Assist in the design of production processes based on LEAN principles

• Assist with cost optimization initiatives to improve product margins and profitability

• Assist with the analysis of work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and layout of equipment to maximize efficiency

• Help define standard work for manufacturing processes

• Assist with capacity and resource planning

• Conduct LEAN training to site personnel

• Communicate and work effectively with all other manufacturing employees and other company personnel and outside vendors.

• Display a professional attitude and represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
