Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Lean Strategies: Lead/facilitate the development and implementation of lean manufacturing strategies and initiatives to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency across the organization.

  • Facilitate Lean Workshops and Training: Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate and engage teams at all levels on lean principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping).

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, analyze current workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and eliminate non-value-added activities.

  • Change Management: Drive cultural change by fostering a continuous improvement mindset and promoting lean thinking throughout the organization. This ranges from high-level strategy, to building manual charts at individual work centers, and many areas in-between.

  • Metrics and Performance Monitoring: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and success of lean initiatives; regularly track and report on performance metrics. Breakdown data to analyze trends and opportunities.

  • Project Management: Lead and manage lean projects from conception to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met. Collaborate often with various internal customers, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers to optimize supply chain processes and drive efficiencies, and reduce waste/non-conformances, throughout the value chain.

  • Sustainment: Ensure that lean initiatives maintain or enhance product quality standards. All improvements must be formally documented through Quality Assurance.

  • Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing peer-team of lean practitioners; provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to support professional development.

  • Travel: 0-10% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.

  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in implementing lean/CI manufacturing principles within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of lean methodologies, tools, and practices, with certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt highly desirable.

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results within specified timelines.

  • Effective communicator with strong leadership and interpersonal skills; able to use different communication styles to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights to identify improvement opportunities and track performance.

  • Change management expertise, including experience leading cultural transformations and managing resistance to change.

  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., ERP systems, process simulation software) for data analysis and process optimization.

  • Comfortable spending 50% of time or more on the shop floor, working along-side the factory.
