Quanex is looking for a Continuous Improvement and Special Projects Manager to join our team located in St. Cloud, Minnesota OR Mounds View, MN.
As the Continuous Improvement and Special Projects Manager, you'll provide leadership in the management of strategic, high impact process improvement projects within the Quanex Custom Component plants. You will also partner with senior leaders to identify areas of improvement, drive cost-savings, employee performance, and execute strategic projects and initiatives which are aligned to Quanex's priorities.

What Success Looks Like:
Lead improvement projects that will reduce operating cost, improve quality, reduce lead time, and improve overall service.
Establish, monitor, and revise as appropriate all project plans necessary to successfully complete the project.
Provide project status on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.
Deliver training and coaching to others on lean methodology, tools, and 5S sustainment.
Implement, monitor, and improve Lean Management Systems.
Serve as a resource to help identify root causes, resolution, and continuous improvement.
Manage plants on an interim role, if needed.
Assist with creating, modifying, and auditing of standard work.
Assist with identifying automation opportunities.
Facilitate and participate in Kaizen events.
Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.
Work closely with Team Leaders and Supervisors on finding solutions to red hours.
Partner with product development to develop operational procedures to produce new products.
What You Bring:
Minimum of 5 years of Lean Manufacturing experience required.
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering preferred.
Experience conducting Kaizen events.
Management experience preferred.
Minimum of a Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
Self-motivated and results oriented, organized, and have great attention to detail.
Ability to travel.
The targeted salary range for this position is $88K to $120K plus potential to earn an annual bonus.
