About the Position:
This position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.
Responsibilities

Providing leadership in integrating continuous improvement into the daily work of districts and schools and developing the tracking and analysis of all data supporting the system-wide continuous improvement program.
Communicating school and district improvement progress, needs, and changes to key stakeholders in the organization.
Drafting accreditation and continuous improvement policy and guidance in coordination with subject matter experts.
Developing presentations to provide continuous improvement program updates.
Utilizing assessment data to develop and execute continuous improvement plans for supporting teaching and learning and professional development.
Conducting workshops, focus groups, and spearhead efforts to promote data-informed instruction and strategic planning for improving K-12 teaching and learning practices.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Continuous Improvement and Accreditation Specialist:

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as mathematics and literacy.

B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as mathematics and literacy plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described in A above.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes a school or district leadership role in implementing a K-12 continuous improvement plan, analyzing data to recommend changes to further improve a continuous improvement program, and advising educators and educational leaders on the use of student assessment data to improve teaching and learning. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

VIEW JOBS 10/31/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-29T00:00 CQI Coordinator/Infection Preventionist As the Continuous Quality Improvement Nurse Coordinator you will be responsible for: * monitoring, auditing, and tracking facility systems and processes to help ensure compliance with state licensure regulations and established facility standards * In house auditor for all nursing practices. * Tracking and following up on nursing practices of all staff to ensure alignment of state regulations. * Facility-wide infection prevention and control program * Participates as a key member of the facility Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA) Committee. * Collaborates with appropriate facility leaders and medical personnel to establish and periodically update an Infection Prevention and Control Plan (IPCP) that includes policies, process and outcome surveillance. * Serves as IPCP facility resource in training and education, surveillance, and compliance monitoring. * Responds with timely and appropriate intervention to notifications (generated via the facility notification system) regarding early detection and management of potentially infectious, symptomatic resident at the time of admission * For potentially infectious, symptomatic residents, identifies and uses appropriate transmission-based precautions and ensures its inclusion in the resident's baseline care plan developed within 48 hours of admission. * Ensures that baseline care plan also includes the minimum healthcare information necessary to properly care for the resident. * When a resident has an infection or is colonized and transfer is required, ensures that information is communicated to the receiving provider including special instructions or precautions for ongoing care and other necessary information including a discharge summary including the disease diagnosis and health conditions, course of illness/treatment or therapy, medications, and pertinent lab, radiology, consultation results, and instructions for ongoing care. * In the case of a communicable disease facility outbreak (as defined in the facility IPCP), coordinates the implementation of appropriate interventions and precautions to prevent further transmission, records or coordinates the documentation of follow-up activity, and ensures facility compliance with state and local public health authority requirements for identification, reporting, and containing communicable diseases and outbreaks. * Acts as coordinator of infection control matters involving staff. Functions include using established policy guidelines to evaluate employees with potential communicable infection, determine when exclusion from work or wearing a mask at work is necessary, and approve return to work or discontinuance of mask. * Maintains current knowledge of nursing home licensure and CMS regulatory compliance. * Attends daily management meetings to review 24-hour report and share / obtain information regarding resident status changes. * Assists in designing procedures and systems to support facility-wide licensure and regulatory compliance. * Provides training and information needed to help ensure licensure and regulatory compliance. * Performs clinical record audits to determine compliance with established facility systems. * Monitors and audits facility-wide quality processes to determine compliance with regulatory guidelines and with established facility systems. * Collects data and prepares statistical reports as directed to illustrate facility performance related to key clinical indicators such as pressure ulcers and wounds, falls, weight changes, UTIs, restraints, and other "at risk" indicators. * Analyzes QA data and makes recommendations for improving systems, procedures or individual performance. * Advises immediate supervisor of noted patterns and trends that suggest persistent non-compliance. * As directed, develops corrective action plans to address system or process failures that lead to undesirable outcomes. * Serves as coordinator and chair of facility Quality Assurance Committee.
