We're looking for someone to join our new team as a Business Continuity Analyst. In this role, you will work with departments to plan for, prepare for, and recover from unexpected events that could disrupt or undermine business operations. Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for the development, coordination, and training of the continuity program for Lubbock Power and Light.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate groups in the identification of potential risks and threats to operations.

  • Develop and update a business continuity playbook to ensure a quick, efficient, and effective response in the event of a disruption or unexpected event.

  • Coordinate with different departments to ensure teams are prepared for disruptions and emergencies.

  • Organize and lead regular training and drills for employees.

  • Monitor, test, and update continuity plans to ensure effectiveness, and that plans reflect changes in the business environment and lessons learned.

  • Train members in recovery efforts and assist in recovery efforts in the event of a disruption.

  • Keep detailed records of all continuity planning activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Development, Emergency/Incident Management, or related field from an accredited university.

Additional, preferred qualifications include experience in continuity or emergency planning, experience leading teams and providing operational oversight, and experience driving change and managing projects.

Related Continuity of Operations, Emergency Operations, or experience leading operations with an electric utility operating in ERCOT may be considered as a substitution for education.

Must be able to obtain a Certified Emergency Manager, Associate Business Continuity Professional, Certified Business Continuity Professional, or equivalent industry Certification within 12 months.

Texas Driver's License.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds;

  • Frequently carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally carry up to 25 pounds;

  • Occasionally stand and walk;

  • Occasionally kneel;

  • Occasionally pull or push objects;

  • Occasionally rotate upper trunk to right or left while sitting or standing;

  • Occasionally reach above, at, or below shoulder height;

  • Frequently handle objects;

  • Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
