Pay Range: $20.02 - $25.77 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary:

Collaborate closely with NCircle, Inc and the Johnson County Department of Corrections (DOC) to help those currently or previously incarcerated find avenues to advance in a career that provides a good income and a healthy life.

Required Qualifications:

  • Career-level professional within field.

  • Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline.

  • Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • Unofficial transcripts are required for all Adjunct faculty and Faculty positions.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Build and nurture relationships with partners at NCircle, Inc and the Johnson County Department of Corrections (DOC) in shared efforts to reduce recidivism and help the community by making education and training accessible to the current or formerly incarcerated population.

  • Assist the recruitment of students into NCircle's College of Trades educational program. Promote awareness of the program and the benefits of participating in the career training and life skills classes. Answer questions and engage with potential applicants as they explore options.

  • Provide current and previous students with educational and employment resources during and after the program. Follow up with students and provide supportive networks upon graduation.

  • Teach the Essential Skills class or portions of the class each semester. Train students in the 7 Essential Skills for the Workplace: Punctuality, Teamwork, Effective Communication, Coachability, Urgency, Organization, and Attitude.

  • Collect and maintain data regarding the program and its participants. Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date records on current students and graduates, including contact information, employment status, needs and barriers, educational and professional goals, and other details beneficial for client stability.

  • Attend scheduled College of Trades classes, covering skills training in various high-demand fields, such as welding, construction, food service, and information technology, as necessary .

  • Assist clients with setting personal, academic, and career goals aligned with their strengths and interests, as well as transition strategies. Build relationships and provide individualized coaching for those participating in the program.

  • Schedule, conduct, and document exit interviews from those who have completed the program. Ask questions, gather insights, and elicit feedback on the quality and effectiveness of the training.

  • Communicate with residential center caseworkers and the Supervision Officer or Court Services Officer of the Johnson County DOC to ensure risks and barriers are identified.

  • Assist students who want to transition to Johnson County Community College Credit programs and regularly check in with each participant as they progress.

  • Maintain confidentiality in all interactions to protect the privacy of all participants.

  • Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. Scheduling, shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.
