VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Company Description AGILE DELIVERY | COMMITTED COLLEAGUES | EVERYDAY CHALLENGE ….MicroStrategy, ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE! At MicroStrategy, challenges excite us. So do powerful technologies. We provide software solutions and expert advice that empower companies with actionable intelligence. And we're not afraid of embracing the pivots that occur in a dynamic product environment to make that happen. Follow us @MSTRCareers on social media and check out our job openings at Job Description We recognize that a customer's experience with MicroStrategy goes beyond using our tools--it is deeply impacted by how we communicate with them and help along the way. Our (growing) Customer Experience team is passionate about building a smoother end-to-end experience with our products and services—across the globe. Our team works across many customer-facing communication channels of MicroStrategy, including our in-app and online help documentation, community, interactive tutorials, and localization efforts. We also collaborate closely with teams that are designing and building our core products. We're looking for you to help us define, create, optimize, and publish compelling content across our multiple channels. You'll work with design, product, documentation, and engineering to shape the words that go into MicroStrategy's products, including onboarding materials, help documentation, and tutorials. You'll maintain superb attention to detail, collaboratively employing a creative, research-driven process to shape content structure, visuals, and tone. Check out our Community Site! A typical day in the life of a MicroStrategy Content Strategist: * Describe a complex product feature in ways that speak to our users and help them understand and use our products. * Lead a mapping session to outline key customer experiences and communications. * Chat with senior team leaders to draw out what real human problems the team can tackle, and how well talk about those needs in understandable language. * Run a two-hour workshop, helping a product team find the human language around the feature they're building. * Brainstorm with a teammate on how to walk a customer through creating a dossier, or how to make error messages more human. * Co-write a user-testing script for upgrading MicroStrategy. * Grab coffee with a product manager to hear what they're super excited about and how you can help. * Identify better ways to incorporate localization efforts in our product design and release cycles so we're not trying to shove German words into microscopic spaces. Our Content Strategist will wear many hats: * Digging into who our customers are and what language they use, then ensure our products speak their language. * Building trustworthy relationships with customers by making simplicity and humanity core facets of our product content. * Cutting or changing what doesn't help customers succeed with our product. * Ensuring a cohesive conversation with users, both within and across our many digital experiences. * Testing your content on real customers, iterate until its clear as a blue sky, then see it rolled out to thousands of customers. * Using data to drive your messaging decisions and support/dispel your assumptions. * Championing content-first design in every project and product you work on. Ideally, you'll help a team nail the right conversation from the beginning, then build an experience around that. Other times you'll meet a team right where they are, helping them find the right language for what they have now, while thinking about how to make it better next time. Qualifications You may be a good fit for this role if: * You love finding ways to describe real human needs in plain language and crafting solutions that actually help. * You are a natural storyteller, information architect, and conversation designer. You can't imagine doing your work without seeing how real people are using what you designed. You'd enjoy bringing humanity and clarity to every conversation we design. * You will embrace the technical nature of MicroStrategy and our products, and still communicate in an approachable style * Are relentlessly user-focused and get across information that is valuable to them Microstrategy Washington DC
