Forbes is looking for a Content Strategist that is passionate about the intersections between commerce, content, insights and tech. You will be joining the Data Products team, which is tasked with empowering data-driven decision-making across the organization. The team achieves this goal using a variety of solutions, spanning from ad hoc reporting to building ai skills within the Bertie CMS. This role will partner with the Forbes Shopping team, which is our affiliate editorial team, to provide insights and tools that will help grow our commerce business.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the affiliate team to forecast trends and ensure SEO best practices
    • Highlight opportunities in trending topics, categories, and keywords to create and update our Forbes Shopping content calendar
    • Perform Content Gap analysis to expand coverage in search
    • Develop documentation on best practices for headlines, keywords, images, etc and lead trainings with the team
    • Review evergreen content performance and make recommendations to improve content freshness
    • Research and compile recommendations for tentpole events (4th of July, Black Friday), plus complete retrospectives to understand how to improve next time
  • Work closely with our digital team to ensure metadata is meeting best practices for SEO, Social, and News Aggregators
  • Determine opportunities for skills and tools that will drive decision making for content creators, content readers, and our commerce stakeholders; collaborate with design and engineering to implement
  • Coordinate with the affiliate team to provide recommendations around paid search campaigns
  • Track and analyze key data points via Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Trends, and other tools needed to understand performance and growth opportunities specific to SEO

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills and a love for data
  • Passionate about sharing information and educating various skill levels on best practices and recommendations. Direct experience with SEO best practices required
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics, Crowd Tangle, and other analytics and social tools
  • Comfortable managing your own projects and deliverables
  • Methodical in testing ideas over and over again in order to achieve desired results
  • Highly adaptable and quick to learn processes
  • Preferred: experience working in media or in affiliate marketing
  • Preferred: experience working with engineering, product, and design to develop features

Forbes Investment Newsletters is adding a new role to our team: a Content Strategist that will actively partner with editors, writers and marketers to help drive quality, innovation and growth. Along with a strong understanding of financial publishing, markets and investing, we seek a teammate with excellent communication, writing and editing skills; a keen eye for timely content that will capture investors' attention; and a demonstrated an ability to evaluate and improve editorial content. We're looking for individuals who are self-starters, detail-oriented, adaptable and able to handle numerous projects at once. An interest in audience engagement across various platforms such as email and social media will be a plus. Responsibilities include: * Cultivating relationships with the investment experts who create the newsletters to provide coaching and guidance to ensure quality products that consistently align with the brand promise; to monitor portfolio performance; and to envision product extensions and new opportunities. * Collaborating with Forbes' Money and Markets Editorial team and Consumer Marketing team to identify opportunities for integration, new product development and cross-promotion. * Identifying and repackaging investing-oriented content that can be leveraged into timely, articles, special reports and marketing campaigns. * Participating in the ideation and creation of unique content in formats such as video, audio, webcasts and transcripts, infographics, and investment tools. * Contributing to the editing and production of premium investment newsletters, special reports and e-letters as needed. * Copy editing and proofreading marketing copy as needed. Requirements: * Minimum 3 years previous experience in investment-focused publishing. * Strong understanding of financial markets. * Bachelor's degree in journalism or economics. * Superior verbal and written communication skills. * Accomplished team player.
