Reporting to the Content Planning and Development Manager, Yamaha is looking for a talented self-starter who will handle uploading new content to our streaming sites, manage the licensing of downloadable/streaming musical content, and ensure royalties are paid out in a timely manner.

Here's What You'll Do

  • Upload new content to e-commerce and streaming sites on a regular basis. Process varies depending on the type and source of the content, including using proprietary importing and admin systems.

  • Receive new sound libraries ("Packs") from suppliers and build into encrypted products for release online. Work with Web Dev to test packs in instruments before release and troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Maintain online product listings to ensure accuracy, compliance, and maximum effectiveness. This includes descriptions, images, and instrument compatibility settings for a large library of products.

  • Reporting of royalty, revenue share, copyright fees, taxes, VAT, and accrual.

  • Payment of royalty, revenue shares to each supplier/vendor.

  • Processing of invoices, wire transfer requests, request for invoices.

  • Manage the licensing of downloadable and streaming musical content for Yamaha's Disklavier player piano, as well as other digital musical instruments. This means obtaining and retaining mechanical, performance, sync, master use, print and lyric licensing for our large content library.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience handling multiple projects at once and managing deadlines

  • Exceptional organizational skills for filing and managing large amounts of documentation and digital assets

  • Typically brings experience with administrative procedures, including processing of payment vouchers, purchase orders, outside services invoices, contract processing, etc.

  • Typically has experience with front-end database management using common applications such as FileMaker Pro

  • Typically brings experience with admin systems and task management applications such as Jira and Wrike

  • Skilled at learning and following long, detailed technical procedures

  • Basic musical skills

  • Must excel at communicating and interacting with other divisions, departments, and foreign subsidiaries

  • Working knowledge of Mac and Windows platforms

  • Intermediate-level skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Experience with music licensing and working with agencies such as Harry Fox, ASCAP, and BMI in obtaining necessary music licensing

  • Experience with electronic musical keyboards

  • Broad knowledge of music from classical to pop

  • Basic Photoshop skills

  • Japanese language skills
