Content Marketing Specialist, Office of Admissions

Basic Function:
Create compelling multi-channel marketing and communication content that engages and builds relationships with a variety of target audiences through a variety of channels, and platforms while maintaining university brand and editorial standards. Reports to Director, Marketing and Communications, Enrollment Management.

Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Research, write and edit engaging content for communications channels, including but not limited to, email, print publications, web, social media, video scripts and advertisements.
Enhance and update web content including stories, photos, videos and other digital assets.
Work closely with Director, Marketing and Communications to develop a robust editorial calendar for cross-platform content to share important stories with prospective, admitted and deposited students as well as parents and influencers of prospective students.
Work closely with key stakeholders within the university's colleges, divisions and departments to develop communications that strategically target prospective students and parents with specific interests.
Coordinate with internal marketing and communications team to strategize and share content for the appropriate channels including print publications, email, social media and web.
Strategize and adapt content for segmented audiences. Manage and organize a library of all communication assets for the Division of Enrollment Management.
Interview students, alumni, community members, and parents to write related content for use across multiple platforms.
Monitor peer and competitor marketing for communication trends, design concepts and creative approaches. Edit and proofread marketing communications.
Collaborate with key stakeholders within University Communications and Marketing to develop and share content with a compelling, consistent, and cohesive voice.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in creative writing, communications, journalism, public relations, English or a related field. At least two years full-time professional work experience in marketing, communications or advertising.
License/Certification:
Knowledge Of:
AP style and mastery of grammar, punctuation and spelling
Email marketing platforms, i.e., Marketing Cloud
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, i.e., Salesforce
Web content systems
Skill In:
Written, verbal and interpersonal communication
Project management
Interviewing a range of audiences
Crafting compelling copy for a diverse range of audiences through demonstrated use of print, digital, and/or multi-media platforms
Ability To:
Manage multiple projects on tight deadlines and changing priorities
Work effectively in a collaborative environment
