The Keiser University Media and Public Relations Department is seeking a results-oriented content manager with a passion for storytelling across a variety of modern and traditional channels. The content manager will play a lead role in the development, creation, and management of a content strategy for Keisers digital media channels including social media channels, blogs, websites, and online platforms. The position will assist in numerous departmental initiatives related to government relations, student services, development, media relations and crisis communications.
This position will contribute to the overall success of Universitys image in social, traditional, and online media including strategy, measurement, executing special events from inception to completion, and securing advocates to respond rapidly in a viral environment. Media relations, public relations, social media management, public engagement, crisis communications, and special event planning are critical functions of the Media and Public Relations department at Keiser University.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist in development of content strategy for Keisers digital media channels including social media, blogs, websites, publications, and online platforms.
Produce original content for Keisers digital media channels including but not limited to written blogs and stories, social media posts, video, photography, formal presentations, graphics, etc.
Support team in crisis communications situations, working with the administration in an accurate and timely manner.
Identify opportunities, trends, and features in both traditional and digital/social media spaces.
Develop and implement measurable social media strategy and campaigns that increase social engagement with all stakeholders.
Develop campus contacts and surrogates to assist in an organized content curation strategy.
Assist in the implementation of Implement public affairs campaigns with colleagues in development and fundraising, government relations, and student services.
Detailed oriented planning and implementation of special events.
Bachelors degree in public relations, communications, digital media, broadcast communications, marketing, or advertising.
Must have superior written communication and editing skills.
Excellent communications skills with the ability to work with multiple team members in a fast-paced environment.
3-5 years of experience producing motivational content that moves an audience to action.
Experience producing and modifying content for social media usage.
Proven experience managing social media strategies.
Basic knowledge of image and video manipulation and editing via Adobe Photoshop and Premiere or other reputable software.
Web development experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge of SEO best practices preferred but not required.
This is a full-time position located in Fort Lauderdale, FL and requires day, evening, and weekend availability. Travel is required for this position.
