Job Summary

The Assurance Content Editor checks content prepared by content developers to evaluate whether it meets brand standards, the API style guide, and is aligned with professional standards. The Editor will prepare documents for update by content developers using style sheets based upon the brand standards. The Editor will transfer redline updates from word documents to technology-based smart forms. The Editor will also coordinate with report processing leads across the firm to collect and input redline changes into forms templates.
1.Evaluates content developed:

  • Carefully reviews and annotate any ambiguities or errors in spelling, sentence construction and punctuation

  • Verifies the content follows the brand standards, API style guide, and professional standards

  • Checks for format and design inconsistencies

  • Checks the accuracy of the table of contents compared to the content section headings
    2.Prepares documents for content developers:

  • Applies style sheet formatting to manual sections

  • Formats tables and flowcharts in accordance with style sheets

  • Maintains meta-data tags and glossary terms associated with documents

  • Transfers sections to a SharePoint development site
    3.Supports multiple content developers during periodic manual update process:

  • Maintains "How to" guides related to authoring tool

  • Provides orientation to new content developers to the authoring tool and related workflows

  • Responds to questions or troubleshoots for simple technical matters
    4.Transfers redline changes from word documents to technology-based smart forms
    5.Coordinates with report processing leads to collect and input redline changes into form templates
    6.Other duties as assigned

Strong candidates understand how dynamic video exists on three screens (television, internet, mobile), and are prepared to edit/produce for all three. Qualified candidates must be ready and able to quickly create high quality content and the content must be ready for air or web-posting in a timely manner. Responsibilities of the position include: * Creative story telling of the highest journalist standards; * Editing, filing and posting a variety of video elements including voice-overs, packages, bumpers and some promotional material. * Encode video for web and mobile distribution; * Ability to operate non-linear edit systems; * ENG shooting experience is also a plus; * Maintain and be responsible for all issued station equipment and vehicles, in accordance with policy; * Must have a professional demeanor and work well/as a team player with news team and staff at all times. * Ability to multi-task, handling editing assignments and capturing feeds and FTP material from multiple TEGNA stations, while constantly monitoring quality control. Job Requirements Requirements include: * Must have experience as a non-linear editor * Experience in Edius and Adobe Premiere * Ability to create/edit material for on-air broadcasts and web, while meeting deadlines. * Experience with After Effects, Photoshop and Lightroom are a plus * Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed; * We put a premium on personal integrity, teamwork, accountability, problem solving and a strong work ethic.
