Greenfield Community College is located in the beautiful and historic Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, between the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and the fertile farmland of the Connecticut River watershed. Job Description:

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Greenfield Community College's Workforce Development program prepares learners for the future of work at our new Career Advancement Center. We focus on accelerated, competency-based certifications that are endorsed by the employers of future-oriented jobs throughout our regional economy.

Working directly under the Associate Director of Workforce Development, this role compliments instructional design, curriculum development, and program management. This is not a training delivery role; however, you will play a significant role in developing content for a variety of courses.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct research to support course offerings;

  • Serve as point-person for instructors for content development;

  • Solicit feedback from industry professionals and expert practitioners for core/essential competencies. Synthesize concepts and work with instructors to shape the integration of the resulting feedback into the course;

  • Work with instructors to articulate course learning objectives;

  • Consult with the GCC marketing team as needed to develop subject-specific, short-form content, including video and social media posts;

  • Assist in developing metrics for ascertaining course effectiveness and learner satisfaction;

  • Assist instructors, staff, and administrators in the design of instructional materials, development of learning resources, and retooling of courses and course segments to alternative delivery methods;

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough project documentation, including course folders, for all instructional design activity.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree;

  • Evidence of successful work experience in in curriculum design/content development;

  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver content in a timely manner;

  • Strong project management skills;

  • Intellectually curious

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful experience in an industry outside of Higher Education.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This is a part-time Non Unit Position for 18.5 hours per week. This position is non-benefited. Incumbents will submit time cards to track hours.

SALARY: $25 to $35 per hour, commensurate with experience.
