How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:

We are seeking a Content Designer within the Brighthouse Financial Experience Design Team in Charlotte, NC. This role will be responsible for defining the structure of how content is surfaced within an online experience. The Content Designer manages the distribution and organization of content, recommending the best approach to structure it based on the platform or device being used.

Annuities and Life Insurance producers and consumers are rapidly adopting online & mobile tools to learn about financial products and solutions. Those interactions often span multiple communications channels (email, web, mobile, social, print and direct contact), across devices and locations.

The Experience Design (XD) team is responsible for the end to end design online experiences for customers and advisors including but not limited to, websites, interactive sales tools, and mobile solutions. We work closely with leadership, brand, sales and product marketers as we create engaging, useful and customer-focused experiences. Key disciplines on this team include: visual design of online experiences, information architecture, content architecture and design strategy.

As part of this team, the Content Designer will be responsible for key deliverables that will impact all aspects of the product's overall design and experience. We are looking for someone who is passionate and deeply committed to creating online experiences that best serve our users by delivering the right content at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bridge the relationship between Content Strategy and Design to architect content flows, optimizing our digital experiences

  • Collaborate with other teams to understand the top 1-2 priorities, immersing yourself to fully understand the business goals, constraints, voice of the customer, and opportunities

  • Co-create user flows, conversation structure, ideal phrases, human language, and navigation ideas with the goal to guide users to achieve page goals

  • Present and gather feedback on language from content owners and legal partners to make sure the information is accurate and within the voice and tone of the brand

  • Join the Content Strategy team meetings to share wins, pose questions, provide business updates, and align to goals

  • Be meticulous for language and the messaging that leads to the experience

  • Manage new content projects throughout the planning, creation, release, and retirement of content across our major web properties

  • Develop & maintain content project calendar, working closely with content team through delivery of content assets and implementation

  • Enforce content guidelines and best practices to establish consistency across digital platforms for content structure, calls to action, navigation, copy length, title length, wayfinding, and button copy, including content adherence to all ADA compliance requirements

Essential Business Experience and

Technical Skills:
  • 4+ years in digital marketing, experience design, content marketing, or related field

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Design or any other related field of expertise

  • Experience with digital content creation for web platforms, content CMS, experience with Adobe AEM a plus

  • Understanding of web & mobile development process & systems, Agile development, prototyping, user experience design and visual design

  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills
