Requirements and Competencies
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related major
Must have at least 3 years of practical experience in social media, communications, marketing or related field
Outstanding written, verbal and visual communications skills. Ability to convey messages clearly and persuasively
Experience with and understanding of social media on behalf of brands; includes experience with paid social advertising, community management and social listening to guide content development
Commitment to collaboration and working effectively as part of team
Good professional judgment, especially when posting on social media channels on behalf of the parks. Maintain poise in difficult situations
Must be able to handle multiple priorities, be able to handle change and be able to perform well under pressure
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Must be available to work varying shifts/hours based on business need, to include nights, weekends and holidays
Experience in theme parks or a related tourism or hospitality organization preferred
Possession of a valid state driver's license preferred
Develop creative content for owned and earned channels that showcase the uniqueness of Discovery Cove in relevant and compelling ways for various audiences
Coordinate social media campaigns that engage fans and grow Discovery Cove's social media channels
Coordinate with other marketing divisions and park departments to manage campaigns for new attractions, animal/conservation initiatives and community efforts that drive awareness and brand preference
Create and execute the editorial calendar for Discovery Cove's social media channels to ensure an appropriate flow of relevant content in all channels
Coordinate editorial calendar with other marketing stakeholders including the Content & Social Media Leader to ensure alignment with other Orlando social channels
Monitor all social channels & engagement reports to review trends and adjust tactics accordingly, and maximize social media as a consumer listening tool to inform marketing communications
