Overview
Supervises the daily efforts of the Consumer Loan Underwriting team by ensuring appropriate decision making all consumer loan requests including auto loans, motorcycle loans, recreational vehicle loans, boat loans, HELOCs and unsecured loans within acceptable service level commitments. Primary point of contact for all member, team member, staff and dealer partner escalations. Supports Consumer Lending Manager in coaching and development of team members. Provides quality control checks, reviews work processed, and assists with training. Adheres to established loan policies, policies, laws, and regulations while demonstrating unwavering commitment to Harborstone's mission, vision and values.
Compensation:
Minimum - $31.48
Maximum - $42.19
Candidates with desired expereince / skills can anticiapte a hiring range of $ 31.65 - $33.75
Responsibilities
Responsible for mentorship and development of team members and acts as the primary contact for questions, troubleshooting and escalated issues.
Provides underwriting support and serves as a point of escalation for secondary reviews of decisions.
Prepares departmental reporting for management.
Review current processes, procedures, and policies in order to identify and recommend improvements.
Responsible to ensure that all processes are adequately documented via up-to-date procedures.
Coordinates and executes on projects involving Consumer Lending systems, applications, and processes.
Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
Request and review supporting documentation in order to validate aspects of the presented credit file.
Evaluate member income documentation to include paystubs and personal tax returns.
Process consumer loan applications within established guidelines, policies, procedures and timelines.
Adhere to all stated lending policy and procedure.
Identify application and credit trends with the intent to inform management.
Seek and maintain an understanding of current economic and market conditions that may impact Harborstone members.
Provide an exceptional experience to our members and staff in alignment with Harborstone's core values.
Research and resolve internal and external member issues in a timely, consistent and professional manner.
Serve as a lending point of contact for branches, dealers and communication center.
Actively promote and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.

Qualifications
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain programs, loan terms, features, policies and benefits to members and business partners.
Strong relationship building and teamwork skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Solid knowledge and understanding of Harborstone financial products and services.
Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Ability to calculate APR, debt to income ratios, loan values, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Knowledge of federal and state lending regulations.
Ability to maintain confidences.
Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.

Required Experience/Education:
High school diploma or GED. Three years' experience in a Consumer Underwriter, or similar, role for a financial institution required.
Physical Considerations:
Must be able to effectively read, write, and listen as well as communicate verbally, electronically and in written form with employees, members, board members, vendors, and the general public as required.
May be asked to handle, move, and/or carry large boxes of supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
May require stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for limited periods of time.
May require sitting and standing for long periods of time.
