The CLG team includes Home Lending, Consumer Credit Card, Personal Loans and Lines, Direct Auto, Dealer Services, Commercial Auto, Retail Services and Education Financial Services including the professional services teams that partner with these businesses - Human Resources, Finance, Credit Risk, and Compliance & Operational Risk.

Our Consumer Credit Solutions (CCS) Unsecured Credit Risk team manages the credit quality of the unsecured CCS portfolios, partnering with Consumer Financial Services, Education Financial Services and Retail Services from origination through account management and authorizations to collections.

Wells Fargo Acquisitions Risk has an exciting and visible opportunity for a Consumer Credit Senior Associate to be part of a team responsible for new accounts for Personal Loan & Line. This key individual will be responsible for line strategy development.

This individual will:

  • Manage risk, size opportunities, prioritize work, build business cases, adhere and test existing policy criteria

  • Manage complex analysis to assure profitable growth while minimizing credit/operating losses and reputation/compliance risk exposure

  • Partner closely with compliance and other business areas to develop risk criteria and propose strategies

  • Partner with various credit, deposit and product groups and external vendors to develop effective ways to manage new account decisions, leveraging best practices and new data

  • Maintain timelines and provide business case development and approval

  • Manage the rollout of pilot programs and criteria changes that present risk

  • Create and share monitoring reporting on various credit, vintage, product, offer, channel, mix, delinquency, loss rate and performance information informing approval strategy decisions

  • Prepare and present work to senior managers to garner support and approval

  • The desired individual will be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal skills in order to actively manage risk while leading and implementing ideas in a cross-functional team environment

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in risk role

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of Tableau

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Results driven attitude, problem solving skills

  • Works effectively through change, able to multitask

  • 4+ years prior credit underwriting, risk management, or comparable position with a credit product (or 2+ years with a Ph.D. degree)

  • Strong SAS and SQL data processing skills

  • Prior experience in both credit card and personal loan risk management role in unsecured lending, especially acquisition underwriting and line assignment

  • Proven track record with hands on experience in business analytics and recommendations

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with all levels of audience

As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk - or Independent Risk Management - provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. Consumer Credit Solutions portfolio and Collection risk management team is seeking a talented and seasoned individual with strong strategy development experience, SAS/SQL background, and extensive experience in combining/analyzing data from multiple large data sources to develop and implement credit control strategies. Proficiency in SAS and Excel are critical and familiarity with credit card industry is a plus. You will be part of a multifaceted team of analysts, programmers, and communications specialists that designs and executes strategies to limit credit losses from accounts that you identify to be high risk and in need of enhanced attention. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: * Support Consumer Credit Solutions Portfolio Risk Management credit control program initiatives (ex. high risk credit line decrease and account closure strategies) to assess underlying risk dynamics, trends and opportunities * Quantitative analytics using SQL/SAS/Tableau to analyze data from a variety of sources (FDR, BMG) to develop, recommend and implement account management strategies (ex. credit line decrease, account closure strategies ) * Provide insights to senior leadership regarding ongoing program performance * Partner with cross functional teams and internal stakeholders, including Product, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Execution/Implementation * Maintain on-going processes and data updates to ensure data integrity, accuracy and timeliness * Lead/support ad-hoc business analytics as needed * Support audit and customer-escalation related inquiries Required Qualifications * 5+ years of experience in risk role * 5+ years of credit and risk analysis experience * 5+ years of experience with analytical methods used in statistical analysis, modeling, and reporting * 5+ years of SAS experience Desired Qualifications * Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability * Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives * Experience with FDR and related Credit Card data and processes * Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas * Ability to prepare presentations, management reporting, and statistical analysis * A Master's degree or higher in operations research, applied statistics, economics, computer science, electrical engineering or a related field * Experience querying, extracting, and reporting on multiple databas es while adhering to data management regulations and policies * Highly developed computer skills including Business Objects, Tableau, SAS * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * Credit card industry experience Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
