Under general supervision the Consumer Credit Representative II is responsible for making complex decisions on loans, by effectively analyzing underwriting components including 5 C's of credit (character, capacity, collateral, capital, and conditions) with the use of criteria from our automated credit scoring system. The Consumer Credit Representative II may occasionally make decisions beyond the organization's guidelines using the defined exception handling process.

Researches, reviews, and resolves complex consumer credit applications through effective queue management and credit analysis practices
Review applications for potential risk; make recommendations for exceptions to underwriting guidelines when appropriate
Handles large volume of inbound/outbound calls to address complex inquiries from business partners/customers in a timely manner
Respond to high application volumes and phone service levels, while maintaining department quality service standards
Actively negotiates for profitable growth by asking open-ended questions to ensure dealer, rider, and HDFS needs are met
This position requires a high school diploma
2-3 years of relevant experience. Applicants with call center, customer service, financial services, and/or underwriting experience are ideal.
Experience analyzing financial information, such as income, debt, and credit pay history to determine credit worthiness
Ability to handle a large volume of calls and production tasks, including maintaining quality standards
Strong proficiency in personal computer skills, including the use of Internet and MS Office software applications
Knowledge of fundamental lending law, concepts, and practices
Ability and willingness to mentor and train new employees
