Enjoy working outdoors? Would you like to gain some experience in Forestry? ACRT Pacific is currently seeking energetic entry-level professionals who enjoy working outdoors. This is a full-time opportunity for individuals who are looking to gain some Forestry experience. Our Consulting Utility Foresters are ideal for professionals with an educational background in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, biology, environmental studies, conservation or related disciplines and who would like to gain experience in these fields and line of work.

Our Foresters patrol for hazard trees, perform identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines. They also assist in the submitting inspection results to clients with recommendations.

This position involves travel throughout the state of California, such as the Sacramento, Davis, and Yuba areas.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Flexibility for overnight travel is required

  • A 2 or 4-year degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Biology or Environmental studies; Or currently enrolled in a Forestry/Environmental program preferred

  • Ability to identify local trees and knowledge of growth rates desired

  • Ability to work independently, strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work in rugged terrain and inclement weather

  • Ability to read and follow maps

  • Valid Driver License and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint

We are looking for an energetic professional who enjoys working outdoors and values the freedom of working independently. We will be working with utility companies inspecting, identifying and evaluating vegetative growth along utility lines and corresponding Right-of-Ways. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Interacting with, and notifying, property owners of the certain Utility programs and potential fuel reduction services. * Inspecting utility Right-of-Way to identify potential fire and fuel hazards to power line facilities. * Using mobile devices to input and collect field data. * Experience with GPS and mapping a plus. * Identify, mark and inventory trees and project locations. * Provide accurate daily progress reports to program management. Requirements: * Must be at least 21 years of age. * Must be willing to work up to 10-hour days / 6 days a week. * Ability to identify local trees and knowledge of growth rates. * ISA Certification preferred. * Experience in Utility Vegetation Management and tree work strongly preferred. * Experience in safety auditing a plus. * Ability to work in teams, independently, strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work in rugged terrain and inclement weather. * Must be flexible and able to work in different counties (travel expenses paid). * Ability to read and follow maps. * Valid Driver License and ability to drive and operate a vehicle.
