Responsible for guiding the successful implementation of non-routine and complex business solutions ensuring high quality and timely delivery within budget to the customer's satisfaction.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle's solution meets the customer's objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge. Effectively applies Oracle's methodologies and policies while adhering to contractual obligations, thereby minimizing Oracle's risk and exposure. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques for effective project delivery on small to medium engagements. Provides direction and mentoring to project team. Effectively influences decisions at the management level of customer organizations. Ensures deliverables are acceptable and works closely with the customer to understand and manage project expectations. Supports business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain credibility. Manages the scope of medium sized projects including the recovery of remedial projects.
8-10 years of experience relevant to this position. Prior project team leadership or management experience. Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles. Comfortable working in a matrix management environment. Strong communication skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors. Product, technology or industry expertise relevant to the portfolio focus. Selling skills preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Ability to travel as needed.

A Project Manager owns the planning, execution, and delivery of customer implementations of Oracle application, software, Engineered Systems/hardware and Cloud projects. Project Managers will deliver projects using Consulting methods and governance systems.

Typical day-to-day project activities include: driving project schedules, anticipating risk and variance, cost containment and disruption handling, managing all project resources, and project communications. Project Managers are leaders in Consulting and will be directing and influencing the customer in the areas of customer-side project involvement, operational readiness, and the overall relationship.


  • Single point of contact for all assigned projects with responsibility for project deliverables, goals, and quality

  • Lead project team of diverse skills and working styles

  • Manage project schedule, issue/risk register, resources, and communication

  • Assign and facilitate tasking into all team members controlling priority, status, and visibility

  • Manage project scope and execute appropriate change requests

  • Manage project financials including revenue forecast, project margin, and project cash flow

  • Manage relationships throughout the customer organization including all project team members, business contributors and stakeholders, and executive management.


  • At least 5-10 years experience as a project manager leading successful application/software, and/or hardware/technology implementations (including Sun or Oracle Engineered Systems)

  • Understanding of efficient business processes (sales, order management/logistics)

  • Strong communication skills with experience developing and managing customer relationships

  • High motivation and desire to do whatever it takes to help the customer and our company succeed.

Travel: Approximately 25% Or As Needed

Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like. Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements and performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training, and on-time delivery within budget constraints. Responsibilities: * Initiates, plans, and implements small to medium projects utilizing WFM's methodologies and IT security best practices and requirements. * Defines and follows communication plan with internal team embers, partners, leadership and stakeholders. * Plans the project in detail and works with resource managers to acquire and schedule human and technical resources. * Tracks dependencies on partners, vendors, and other 3rd parties. * Accurately documents and communicates project status, risks and requirements to leaders and stakeholders on a regular basis. * Establishes project documentation library and ensures project management deliverables are completed. * Controls project quality and success by actively managing issues and the decision process, assessing risks, initiating and tracking change requests, meeting schedule and deadlines for deliverables, and timely completion of project deliverables. * Organizes, attends, participates in, and facilitates meetings and ceremonies with Team Members and peer stakeholders, and distributes minutes to all attendees where appropriate. * Documents and follows up on important actions and decisions from meetings. * Responds to critical situations with accurate analysis, problem breakdown, option assessment, and clear communication and/or escalation with the right stakeholders, if needed. * Demonstrates resourcefulness, ceaseless energy and persistence to achieve goals despite obstacles and difficulties. * Conveys a strong sense of urgency and drives issues to closure. * Diplomatically but assertively leads negotiation of competing priorities and interruptions with stakeholders on behalf of the team, escalating where necessary. Requirements: * Experience with advanced project task scheduling tools (MS Project, Workfront). * Experience planning and managing projects with waterfall project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, PRINCE II). * Experience assessing and leading project risk, issue, and scope change management. * Experience managing IT security related projects. * Experience in waterfall project governance to keep projects on track financially, technically, and in accordance with stakeholder deadlines. * Experience assessing and leading project risk, issue, and scope change management using Agile/Lean principles. * Actively participates and collaborates with Team Members to achieve business goals. * Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening. * Well-organized, able to multi-task, and adhere to deadlines. * Proactively dives deep into technical solution, business context, and team process as a servant leader. * Effectively leads a project team without direct authority. * Demonstrates strong judgment to convey an appropriate sense of urgency and drives issues to closure. * Ensures that all personal and team activities, metrics, and reports are conducted with as high transparency as possible for stakeholders, leaders, partners, and as part of a program if applicable. * Team player with strong business and reporting ethics. * Able to maintain confidentiality. * Able to question information received for appropriateness and completeness.
