We are currently seeking a resourceful Consulting Project Manager to successfully manage Synergex Professional Services Group (PSG) client engagements from start to finish. The Consulting Project Manager oversees all aspects of the project team (Developers, Designers, Quality Assurance, Business Analysts, and Stakeholders) by developing schedules, establishing quality deliverables and objectives, and providing best practices and procedures to deliver exceptional quality projects on time and within budget. Coordinating with internal and external resources to facilitate meetings to ensure that projects are on track, issues and risks are identified, understood, and dealt with in a manner that mitigates the risk to scope, cost, and scheduling conflicts.

Reporting to the PSG Consulting Manager, this position can be in office, hybrid or remote, depending on your proximity to Sacramento, CA.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Manage the relationship with the client and relevant stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, third parties and vendors
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

Here is a sample of what you are signing up to manage: software application platform migration, User Interface development, service layer development, application feature development, database development and client retainer (staff augmentation) projects. Each project may involve at least one trip to the customer site.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in managing enterprise-level technology projects. They will be a natural problem solver who can proactively lead diverse teams on long-term and short-term client engagements. We are looking for excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into timely and accurate responses and actions. We need creative thinking skills, and strong team and time management skills to deliver solutions on or under deadlines and within environments where priorities can change. Looking for those motivated by a desire to help businesses achieve their goals.

The Need-To-Haves:

  • Working knowledge of project management techniques and procedures, including Waterfall and Agile/Scrum. Professional certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of project management tools, such as Microsoft DevOps and Atlassian Suite.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful.

The Nice-To-Haves:

  • Knowledge of Synergy/DE products.
  • Knowledge of the operating system platforms on which Synergy/DE can be deployed, (i.e., .NET, Windows, OpenVMS and Linux)
  • Knowledge of non-Synergy/DE software development products (i.e., Visual Studio, C#, Java, SQL, web development tools, and source code management tools).


  • The ideal candidate will be able to work primarily from home with 25%+ travel to client sites.
  • Must be self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage all situations professionally.
