A specialized role, focused on assisting Huron clients involved in animal research. This manager will be expected to lead projects, implement Animal Operations software and/ or help assess offices of Comparative Medicine and Laboratory Animal Services. Familiarity with current best practice and regulatory requirements allow them to design and implement complex, comprehensive solutions. The individual will help to make implementation decisions and design software-supported business processes for daily operations such as animal procurement, transfer, special technical services, and space management. Skilled relationship builders, the manager collaborates with client staff and leadership while managing and mentoring junior Huron staff. While activities vary based on project size/scope and individual skill-sets and strengths, the Manager can expect to spend time as follows: 80% on client-facing engagement through all project phases (pursuit to delivery), project management, and intensive data-analysis to implement impactful recommendations. Approximately 20% of the Manager's time will be dedicated to overall practice development, the mentorship of coachees (when assigned), and general project/organizational administrative tasks.

Current permanent U.S. work authorization
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 7 years relevant experience managing complex team-based engagements in a consulting organization or institution focused on driving change for results
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (1) working in research vivaria OR (2) working in a business office supporting research husbandry services or in consulting for these operations
Knowledge of current federal regulations, including but not limited to (1) Animal Welfare Act and (2) Public Health Service (PHS) Policy on the Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals
Willingness and ability to travel every week (Monday-Thursday) on a 60-80% basis annually; work extended hours as necessary
Advanced degree in Healthcare Administration/Business Administration (MHA, MPH, and MBA similar) or related field is preferred
Experience with Institutional Animal Care and Use Committees
Direct experience working with laboratory animals such as a veterinary technician or animal care technician
CMAR or LAT/LATg Certification
Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA) designation
Experience working in an administrative/ business office of a university, hospital, or research institute
Experience implementing software to support business processes
Direct supervisory experience and proven ability to capitalize on a diverse group of professional skills and personalities in a team environment, including coaching, mentorship and performance management
Strong attention to detail and proven data/analytical and process redesign skills (including problem solving, quantitative reasoning and workflow mapping) to develop analysis and process improvement recommendations to create a solution that drives measurable desired results and maintains client and team satisfaction
Strong written and documentation skills and attention to detail to create and edit internal and client deliverables that are succinct, articulate and meet Huron's standards of quality
