The Consulting Delivery Manager (CDM) for Energy and Natural Resources (ENR) industries performs in a leadership capacity within their assigned consulting services team. In this capacity, the CDM will work to achieve specified business targets; provide delivery governance and project oversight; support the deal execution process; provide industry and solution thought leadership; manage the team and develop the talent potential of each team member; and comply with SAPs high standards of administrative and cultural excellence. The CDM role requires the ability to work effectively with other departments of SAP and externally with partners consistent with SAP's Customer Engagement Lifecycle (CEL).
As a people manager, you are responsible for supporting the success of not only your direct reports, but the success of all employees within the larger team you are a part by helping to identify development opportunities and supporting team members to achieve their goals. You are expected to know about the members of your extended team and share insights with your peer managers. Look for opportunities to coach and recognize employees directly and provide just-in-time feedback so that employees can reflect on your input immediately.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:
Work with Delivery leaders and Service Sales counterparts to ensure organizational
objectives and metrics are met (inclusive of Revenue, Profit, Utilization, Innovation, Client Satisfaction).
Support large implementation pursuits within cross disciplinar teams.
Works with Service and Software sales teams to understand sales pipeline and develop associated delivery execution plans
Communicate a clear vision of the future: discuss, explain and actively promote the vision within own team, to peers and customers
Motivate through inspiration and mobilize teams: create a comfortable working environment, establish an atmosphere for discussions, seek for feedback and call for people's opinions

Your critical role in DBS/GSD ENR is to help customers move to SAP S/4 HANA as well as the Digital platform. Help develop individual digital journeys for our Customers in the Oil & Gas / Chemicals industries that are tailored to their specific needs and priorities. Drive optimization and development of the practice with regard to all digital dimensions relevant to customer value as well as business performance with a strong focus on outcomes.
Be a Digital Thought Leader
"Open the door" at the customer on CEO, CFO, Business Unit Head level, attract new customers, be a trusted discussion partner for defining the digital business strategy, and new business models, challenger for customers.
Be a recognized thought leader, Sharp public profile through speeches, publications, etc., able to discuss business strategy on C-level, and provide new ideas and insights. Understand customer business priorities and strategies, and align them with industry digital business models.
Digital focused Practice Strategy
Break-down the SAP corporate and Digital Business Services Strategy to the ENR practice level. Conduct analysis of customer demands across the NA geography taking into account the overall strategic direction of SAP (product development, solution-focus, services focus areas, etc.) in order to identify core areas relevant to Digital Business Services. Share results with the ENR practice leadership team and identify steps to shape the delivery approach for success in the digital economy.
Help develop customer engagements, representing SAP in the overall engagement model and governance structure. Assume responsibility for customer inquiries with a high level of impact (e.g. global customers in critical situations; lighthouse projects with a high impact in the market; new solutions & services being implemented). Drive the customer inquiry into an adequate delivery concept and project ensuring customer success along the way.
Product- & Service Development (Roll-In)
Identify opportunities and digital use cases to enhance the services portfolio of the practice in terms of quality as well as productivity & efficiency and ensures the relevant priority decisions are made. Share know-how gained within the practice as well as across practices and outside of GSD for maximum business impact.
Industry Thought Leadership & Knowledge Management
Monitor market trends and dynamics. Drive industry thought leadership and optimization of all major items which are core to practice success (delivery portfolio / content covered, delivery mix, customer approaches, collaboration across all units of SAP, etc.). Help to make connections across teams on topics which will enhance the practice in all relevant dimensions.
10+ years of experience with strong knowledge of Industry business processes in Oil & Gas / Chemicals and SAP solution landscape; experience in pre-sales / sales / customer-facing role preferred; the incumbent must be able to engage with C-level executives and gain their trust and confidence in architecting the solution approach and delivery model; exposure to global / large regional industry customers is preferred.
Experience in strategic thinking and conceptual design of complex projects & programs
Solid knowledge in a SAP solution and respective industry business process understanding
Experience in customer interaction
Experience in leading virtual teams cross-border
Experience in decision making within own area of responsibility / project
