The Chief AI Architect (CAIA) will be responsible within the Corporate AI Campaign for leading the development of the key NG Corporate Strategic AI technology insertion opportunities with a focus on the mission and customer impact as directed by the Corporate AI/ML Campaign. Short term targets for the AI Campaign include the National Mission Initiatives (NMIs) and Component Mission Initiatives (CMIs) announced and offered by the newly formed DOD Joint AI Center (JAIC), and other AI insertion opportunities that exists for transition into new and existing NGC captures and programs. These target transition opportunities will include both S&T CRAD as well as traditional customer programs of record.
A key aspect of the CAIA position to coordinate the continuation and execution of Corporate AI Campaign cross-sector Working Group as aligned to the Corporate Mission Campaigns. The CAIA will take responsibility to drive the processes necessary to identify, startup, and begin cross-sector collaboration for purposes of building working groups that produce business outcomes across NGC. The CAIA will identify technical SMEs, business stakeholders, and working group leadership from across NGC. The Working Groups will be identified either by the Corporate Campaign or business organizations based on targets of opportunity within domains, technology areas of interest, and/or as identified by the AI strategy as it matures. The CAIA will assist the business development and capture teams in identification of customer requirements and in other customer shaping activities. The CAIA will lead the engagement across NGC as the AI Campaign seeks transition of our NGC AI/ML capabilities into the targeted programs and captures.
The CAIA will lead in the identification of AI/ML technology capabilities, algorithms, tools, and components as required for purposes of supporting the identified mission goals of our customers and supported by the Working Groups. The CAIA will leverage a team of AI architects to identify architectural components and technology differentiators in support of the business outcomes across the enterprise. The CAIA will assist in the development of the Corporate AI Strategy, Communications Plan, and with writing BAA responses, RFIs, and proposals as appropriate to support the business desired business outcomes of the Corporate AI Campaign.
Key specific responsibilities include:
Serving as the lead of a team of technical ambassadors for AI/ML across the NGC enterprise
Create a culture of rapid adaptation and adoption of commercial AI technologies within NG offerings
Overseeing development and implementation of the enterprise Mission Data Strategy
Development of foundational AI/ML discriminators for use in systems and platforms across the enterprise
Identification and assessment of AI insertion opportunities into key programs across the enterprise
Architecting AI solutions in collaboration with key program technical leadership teams
Collaboration with product line organization to accelerate development and integration of AI building blocks into our product lines
Shaping corporate AI strategy
Driving innovation, technology maturation and integration into AI product lines
Serving as technical subject matter experts for key customers, technical standards organizations and academia
Collaborating with and advising NGC AI community across the enterprise
Engaging, collaborating and fostering partnerships with commercial AI companies and key academic partners
Deep technical understanding of artificial intelligence and state of the art commercial practices
Proven ability to apply cutting edge research to real mission customer problems
Demonstrated ability to think broadly about applications of AI/ML research to products across the NGC enterprise
Demonstrated ability to identify common technology needs across a broad portfolio of programs
Demonstrated track record of prototype development and ability to communicate the mission impact of technology to customers
Proven ability to develop strategic and technology roadmaps and experience translating those roadmaps to capability development
Experience leading teams of technology professionals
Strong influencing and collaboration skills in working across organizational boundaries
Proven effective communication skills at all levels of the organization from executive presence to interaction at the technical level
