The Expert Services Strategy Consultant is responsible for supporting delivery of additive manufacturing/3D printing client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and digital manufacturing technology solutions.

You will combine your technical knowledge of Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing with strong analytical skills to develop high quality, robust business solutions for our clients. You will be given responsibility for delivering work packages across a wide range of projects, with regular interaction with clients. Your project activities will involve tasks such as business and technical innovation workshops, cost modeling, and forecasting the impact of AM technology, during which you will use and develop in-house modeling tools and methodologies. You will lead the production of client-facing presentations and reports and support, if not lead, the delivery of workshops, as well as produce materials that position Expert Services as a thought leader.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Consultants are expected to contribute to the group's growth and development in a variety of ways, including:

  • Strategy and Operations: Develop and implement 3D printing/additive manufacturing strategies and operational improvement plans for our clients.

  • Project Delivery: Support client project planning and budgeting; define deliverable structure and execute deliverable content; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement issues and risk.

  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients and sponsors with day to day interactions.

  • Business Development: Participate in the proposal development process.

  • Practice Development & Thought Leadership: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; publish content in relevant industry periodicals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, Industrial Engineering, or a closely-related technical discipline.

  • 2 years of relevant industry or consulting experience post undergraduate degree completion.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interface with clients on technical matters and support presentations to executive management teams.

  • Understanding in:

  • 3D printing/Additive Manufacturing industry experience, including knowledge of manufacturing processes and tooling.

  • Performing market research and identifying key industry trends, including market performance, capability assessment, and benchmarking and competitive analysis.

  • Facilitating translation of the strategic framework into an executable plan through business case analysis, project planning, roadmaps, and project management.

  • Analyzing client requirements and business models and making recommendations on strategic choices to achieve the client's growth objectives.

  • Define capabilities required to enable business models for effective, strategic value delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other relevant advanced degrees (e.g. Masters in Engineering or Design).

  • Experience working in a strategic consulting environment (e.g. McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Accenture, Deloitte, KPMG, etc)

  • Travel requirement: Up to 40% of the time (primarily U.S.).

The scope includes: manufacturing operations 40 plants and distribution centers, ~$350M 4-year manufacturing restructuring program, quality, and operational excellence. The incumbent will determine the overall manufacturing strategy, provide direction, and oversight for the execution of restructuring projects and achievement of operational goals and deliverables. In addition to direct reports, the incumbent is the functional leader to the VPs of Manufacturing Operations in the Hydraulics Americas, EMEA, APAC, Filtration and Golf. Success in this role requires leadership across a complex regional, business, and functional matrix.
