JGA seeks a Consultant to lead client engagements and build and cultivate new client relationships.

A key member of the team, the Consultant will strengthen the JGA culture by delivering high-quality service to the firm’s clients. The ideal candidate will bring experience in nonprofit leadership and/or consulting. They will bring demonstrated prior success in advancement and experience with campaigns.

Duties/Responsibilities: Work as part of a team (most often in a team lead capacity) to provide consulting services to multiple client organizations including but not limited to feasibility studies, development audits and assessments, pre-campaign planning, campaign counsel, post-campaign evaluations, and donor analytics.

As part of the consulting services, write, deliver, and present reports to clients. Focus significant efforts on establishing and maintaining a pipeline of business by creating and implementing strategies for new client engagements that drive revenue growth. Lead the response to requests for proposals (RFPs) for new client engagements.

Lead and participate in sales presentations. Contributes to the growth of the nonprofit field by collaborating with colleagues to develop thought leadership, webinars, and educational content, as well as having a presence as both a participant and speaker at professional conferences. Required Skills/Abilities:

Exposure to the development of campaign strategy and capital campaigns; managing major and planned gift strategies. Knowledge of and demonstrated prior success in some or all of these areas: annual support, planned giving, and capital campaigns, combined with a solid exposure to public affairs, alumni, or other constituent programming and support. Demonstrated understanding of board dynamics.

Active engagement and cultivation of new business relationships and close agreements with prospective clients. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to synthesize data and persuasively and clearly present information. Superb time management and organizational skills.

Sound judgment, critical thinking, and high degree of emotional intelligence. Ability to act as a representative of JGA at all times and therefore maintain the highest standards of the field of philanthropy, personal discretion, and professional demeanor. These characteristics include strategic thinking, the ability to effectively address and stay on top of multiple assignments, and forward thinking to keep all client engagements on schedule and completed according to promised timelines. Commitment and experience to community or professional sector service. Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree Eight plus years of active experience in the fundraising field. Physical Requirements: Ability to work long hours, nights, and weekends as needed.

Extensive travel both locally and non-locally with some overnight requirements. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and talking on the phone. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Performance in this position is inextricably linked to the goals of the firm, most importantly to continue growth of a superb team known for its excellence in philanthropic consulting. This is a salaried position, and exceptional performance will be rewarded by bonuses in compensation when funds for those are available and warranted at the discretion of the CEO and Senior Consultant.
