What you'll be doing...

As a subject matter expert, you'll be improving our credit processes and systems in order to enhance the customer experience, reduce our debt, and protect our assets.

You are accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.

You will be involved in analyzing, evaluating and reporting on the company's consumer/business credit activities. You will assist with the development and continued enhancement of company-wide and product-specific risk assessments, credit policies and procedures. You will perform ongoing monitoring of credit practices to ensure products are in full compliance with applicable credit policies. Additionally, you will assist with the audit and approval of charges from vendors providing credit related services and data assets.

Demonstrate a basic knowledge of financial, accounting and additional support systems. A further key responsibility of this position is to identify any improvement opportunities in this area and to contribute to the design and implementation of new strategies, processes or procedures as a result of identifying improvement opportunities.

  • Developing and implementing initiatives focused on enhancing our credit processes, reducing bad debt and churn, while also improving the customer experience.

  • Providing strategic recommendations on complex processes or issues that contribute to improving operational metrics.

  • Creating, analyzing and interpreting reports for managers providing recommendations to guide business decisions.

  • Undertaking complex projects and provides guidance on project related issues as needed.

  • Fielding issue escalations from internal customers or delivery partners and responds to customer inquiries as requested, ensuring issue and error resolution.

  • Identifying improvement opportunities for their work stream and works closely with either the internal team or service providers (if any) to enable the implementation of improvement opportunities.

  • Managing, evaluating and maintaining credit policies for consumer/business credit worthiness.

  • Evaluating and monitoring scoring models to ensure that they are empirically derived, statistically sound including credit scorecard validation and redevelopment.

  • Performing Consumer/Business Credit Screening Strategy Development and Analysis.

  • Supporting Synergies in Credit Screening, Fraud Prevention and Strategic Vendor Relationships.

  • Performing Business Intelligence and Data Analysis, Descriptive Statistics and Performance Validation of existing and potential Credit Strategies.

  • Supporting empirically derived predictive model development and life cycle.

  • Ad-hoc reporting, tracking and trending, and predictive measures using commonly used statistical measures.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.

  • Created complex queries and reporting tools.

  • Experience working with financial, accounting and collection support systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel; strong written and oral communications skills.

  • Ability to analyze data and interpret credit performance metrics.

  • Knowledge of statistical credit modeling methodologies.

  • Strong self-confidence, good judgment and the ability to make sound decisions.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills in hyper change environment.

  • Advanced Query Skills (SQL).

  • Experience with one of SAS/R/Python and experience to programing in SQL, VBA, SPSS, MATLAB, JAVA, Tableau or other related tools.

  • Experience working in a collection support call center.

  • Experience of electronic customer self-serve support applications.

Oversee a team of 10-20 Collectors. Responsibilities: * Oversee and manage a team of billing/collections staff responsible for all AR and Billing tasks for all global entities, including: * Review, process and send out all monthly or ad-hoc service and product billing • Handle invoice inquires or disputes from Clients with the help of Client Development Managers and Management, issuing and sending out credits where necessary with approval * Use proactive collection techniques to ensure DSO and Aging targets are met • Review all past due Client amounts and take necessary actions including client follow-up, and reporting any concerns to the management; * Updating Escalation aging with collaboration on decreasing the outstanding bad debt. * Maintain all service contracts with regard to billing adjustments, rate increases, or service additions/deletions * Manage requests for deposits and cash application verification * Closing monthly AR based on target dates * Complete monthly Accounts Receivable reconciliation from SL to the GL * Review, investigate and report on all monthly billing variances, new client additions, terminations etc. * Design, process improvements, implementation and maintenance of all billing workflow • Coordinate with 3rd party collection agencies when warranted * Maintain staff by leadership and development through: * Effective communication of Job expectation; develop plan for growth; planning, mentoring and appraisals of performance * Coaching, training, counseling, and disciplining employees when needed. * Developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. * Tracking and reporting weekly performance against established goals and expectations. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or related field or minimum 5 years of experience in credit/collections/billing role, including at least 3 years both leading a team and responsibility for direct customer contact. * High degree of integrity including ability to successfully deal with sensitive or confidential information. * Hands on, self-starting, disciplined, and detail-oriented individual with ability to work in a high volume environment that requires a work product that is highly accurate and timely. * Experience and understanding of proper accounting treatment for Accounts Receivable transactions and activities. * Experience with computerized accounts receivable software applications. * High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, MS Word) * Demonstrated leadership of a high performing team, with a focus on results and timely execution. * Knowledge of specific collection techniques, processes, systems, and best practices * Knowledge of Business and Management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. * Knowledge of policies, procedures, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency. * High degree of personal accountability, with the ability to both develop goals and track and report progress against those goals in a results-oriented environment. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Able to approach problems proactively and communicate solutions to others. * Able to communicate with technical and non-technical professionals both internally and external.
