What you'll be doing...
Continuous improvement is what we are all about and you will play a significant role in developing strategies that will make us better. As a subject matter expert, you'll be improving our credit processes and systems in order to enhance the customer experience, reduce our debt, and protect our assets.
You are accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
You will be involved in analyzing, evaluating and reporting on the company's consumer/business credit activities. You will assist with the development and continued enhancement of company-wide and product-specific risk assessments, credit policies and procedures. You will perform ongoing monitoring of credit practices to ensure products are in full compliance with applicable credit policies. Additionally, you will assist with the audit and approval of charges from vendors providing credit related services and data assets.
Demonstrate a basic knowledge of financial, accounting and additional support systems. A further key responsibility of this position is to identify any improvement opportunities in this area and to contribute to the design and implementation of new strategies, processes or procedures as a result of identifying improvement opportunities.
Developing and implementing initiatives focused on enhancing our credit processes, reducing bad debt and churn, while also improving the customer experience.
Providing strategic recommendations on complex processes or issues that contribute to improving operational metrics.
Creating, analyzing and interpreting reports for managers providing recommendations to guide business decisions.
Undertaking complex projects and provides guidance on project related issues as needed.
Fielding issue escalations from internal customers or delivery partners and responds to customer inquiries as requested, ensuring issue and error resolution.
Identifying improvement opportunities for their work stream and works closely with either the internal team or service providers (if any) to enable the implementation of improvement opportunities.
Managing, evaluating and maintaining credit policies for consumer/business credit worthiness.
Evaluating and monitoring scoring models to ensure that they are empirically derived, statistically sound including credit scorecard validation and redevelopment.
Performing Consumer/Business Credit Screening Strategy Development and Analysis.
Supporting Synergies in Credit Screening, Fraud Prevention and Strategic Vendor Relationships.
Performing Business Intelligence and Data Analysis, Descriptive Statistics and Performance Validation of existing and potential Credit Strategies.
Supporting empirically derived predictive model development and life cycle.
Ad-hoc reporting, tracking and trending, and predictive measures using commonly used statistical measures.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.
Created complex queries and reporting tools.
Experience working with financial, accounting and collection support systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel; strong written and oral communications skills.
Ability to analyze data and interpret credit performance metrics.
Knowledge of statistical credit modeling methodologies.
Strong self-confidence, good judgment and the ability to make sound decisions.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills in hyper change environment.
Advanced Query Skills (SQL).
Experience with one of SAS/R/Python and experience to programing in SQL, VBA, SPSS, MATLAB, JAVA, Tableau or other related tools.
Experience working in a collection support call center.
Experience of electronic customer self-serve support applications.
