What you'll do

As a Consultant, Brand Strategy & Insights, you will demonstrate your creative fortitude and solid, strategic thinking through:

Diagnosing what we are solving for. Developing and planning solutions.

  • Lead client discussions to define objectives by actively listening and asking the right questions

  • Become immersed in not only the client's business but also the customer's perspective, in order to bring creative ideas to the client organization

  • Devise creative, focused and effective activities, projects and frameworks that generate insights or foster consumer collaboration

  • Design a project plan efficiently, to yield great insights and resonant reports

  • Devise a strategy that allows for iterations and depth when needed, including known parameters, methodology and timeline

  • Display versatility in writing styles and formats (e.g., from quick team emails to C-suite communications), effectively adapting your writing to diverse audiences


  • Collaborate with clients and Client Services and Consulting teams to gather and translate business priorities and objectives into effective research plans and compelling, actionable reports

  • "Own the insights" on your client accounts; show strategic thinking for your clients and be adept at not merely sharing findings and insights, but at providing business recommendations and sharing a voice in plans for action

  • Demonstrate deep analytic thinking and curiosity by continuously looking for opportunities to build your stories and conversations with clients (e.g., surfacing unanswered questions relevant to client objectives, incorporating knowledge of industry trends into reports to place insights into broader, more meaningful context)

Analysis & Reporting

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of qualitative and quantitative results to uncover actionable insights relevant to client business and research objectives

  • Craft creative, clear and concise stories. Elevate findings into insightful reports that bring the voice of the consumer to life

  • Utilize a variety of visual elements in reports including charts, graphs, imagery and other creative techniques to highlight key insights and engage readers

  • Present findings to clients and lead discussions regarding insights and their impact on the business, ultimately with the goal of inspiring our clients

Internal Collaboration

  • Work alongside team members from Client and Consumer Services to develop and maintain excellent relationships with business clients

  • Develop and actively lead facilitation plans to meet client and team expectations

  • Mentor and coach more junior team members with regard to research design, project execution, research analysis and reporting

  • Participate in internal initiatives to develop company points of view, thought leadership, innovative techniques and formats

  • Develop and deliver internal company training as part of the implementation of C Space's point of view and best evolving practices

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS degree in business or related social science discipline (Sociology, Anthropology or Psychology)

  • 5-9 years of professional experience in Brand Planning, Market Research, Consumer Insights, Brand Management or Strategy

  • Passion and experience in project design and planning to garner insight or cultivate collaboration and innovation across a number of topics and industries

  • Deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative research design and analysis

  • Ability and interest in writing insightful, creative reports that can satisfy a researcher's need for detailed analysis yet be packaged in a way that engages a senior-level marketing audience

  • A confident and clear presenter, who is at ease with diverse audiences

  • Validated time management skills; you are able to set priorities and manage expectations

  • Strong client relationship and consulting skills

  • Positive teammate with a 'roll up your sleeves' attitude

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, intense work environment and is accepting of change

  • Strong MS Office Suite skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

VIEW JOBS 8/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-15T00:00 General Summary / Overview Statement The Senior Consultant reports to the Director of Strategy Implementation and is responsible for coordinating the implementation of a broad range of initiatives and providing project management support. The Senior Consultant will work directly with the Executive Director of Partners Urgent Care to support the execution of their prioritized projects. Responsibilities include development and documentation of project scope, plans and timelines as well as communication of progress towards goals. The Senior Consultant will work in partnership and collaborate with key workgroups, steering committees, and leaders to design programs and make the efforts, including learning and applying content expertise related to the projects, to move projects forward. To achieve these objectives, the Senior Consultant will work in partnership with clinical and administrative leadership as assigned to ensure successful execution of projects. Success in this role is judged based on the quality of facilitation and support provided in the following areas: * Consistent, coordinated and thorough project management * Design, implementation and periodic progress updates * High quality presentations * Design and execution of planning activities and decision-making required to implement key priorities * Learning and applying adequate content expertise and skill related to the initiative to move projects forward This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills; an ability to independently research, analyze and synthesize information; as well as the ability to learn and apply new content and skill or identify resources throughout the institution to ensure that projects are completed in an effective and timely manner. Under general guidance from the Executive Director of Partners Urgent Care, the Senior Consultant is expected to perform with a high level of independence and good judgment. This position requires spending time at both the Partners HealthCare location in Somerville and at the Brigham and Women's Hospital campus in Longwood. Visiting the various Partners Urgent Care locations might also be required depending on projects. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Project Management * Accurately scopes and plans projects and task forces influenced and overseen by clinical and administrative leadership as assigned * Meet expectations related to the identification of key stakeholders, research of relevant issues, collection and synthesis of relevant data, formal project management, staffing and facilitating of committees and work groups, preparation of work plans and communication summaries, and tracking of project status and measures of success * Utilize standardized approaches, tools, and technology for internal consultancy 2. Operational Change and Strategy Implementation * Provide the following analytic and project evaluations: * Regularly distribute and present key data and strategies highlighting the progress of a project * Analyzing operational data to evaluate performance and identify opportunities * Evaluating how changes may impact the organization's operations and awareness of implications on a variety of teams. Supports operational improvement initiatives within the scope of assignment, in partnership with clinical and administrative leadership as appropriate. Goals for this work will often relate to improvement in operational efficiency, asset utilization, capacity management, quality and safety 3. Communication Activities * Prepare concise, creative, professional summaries of plans, as appropriate * Effectively present findings to all levels of staff, targeting the presentation towards the knowledge level and needs of the audience, including: internal senior management, clinicians, and front-line staff * Work to ensure smooth information flow between involved parties * Develop summary communication materials for executive level presentations, as requested * Encourages and engages others in discussion to build trust among team members by communicating 'early and often' 4. Advance Alignment and Collaboration * Utilize rigorous project management tools to engage teams to participate in projects * Utilize strong coping and perceptivity skills in identifying the appropriate pace of change as well as awareness of stakeholder needs, and incorporate that into planning and execution of initiatives * Proactively consider and evaluate complexities of projects 5. Learn and Apply New Skills and Knowledge to Advance Initiatives * Approach the work with curiosity and purpose of adopting adequate skill and content to advance projects and remove barriers to progress * Apply rigor in analyzing problems, scope, effort, performance * Be the "go to" person for the project, and in coordination with subject matter experts and leaders Lead projects forward with a spirit of progress and by example, establishing self as a critical role in progress. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree required; MBA, or MPH preferred 2. At least 5-7 years progressive experience in healthcare as a consultant or project manager 3. Experience working in a hospital and/or similar academic medical center environment preferred 4. Exceptional judgment and discretion in interacting with senior management, clinicians, and clinical leaders on sensitive political and confidential issues Skills / Abilities / Competencies: Exact expectations around the following skill set will be defined with the Director and then refined over the course of time as the Senior Consultant and Project Manager develops and advances in this role: 1. Ability to work with senior management, both in a collaborative manner on projects and as the Vice Presidents' designee. 2. Individual must be assertive and goal oriented with experience facilitating and staffing projects that involve multidisciplinary team members. 3. Handles issues that are significant, complex, multidisciplinary, sensitive, political, and confidential.
