Construction Technologist Surveyor

CarolinaPower is seeking a Construction Technologist Surveyor in Columbia, SC. The Construction Technologist Surveyor will blend technology with construction. They will also, use Trimble Total Station, 3D Cameras / Scanners, drones, Autodesk/Revit, and more to assist project teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate Trimble Total Station in the field to layout points from software.

• Create field points in Field Link/CAD/Revit for Total Station.

• Operate 3D Camera and/or 3D Scanner for job updates, as-builts, etc.

• Operate drone for job scanning and photos

• Create and modify 2D/3D electrical plans and detail in Autodesk Building Design Suite (Revit, Navisworks Simulate, AutoCAD, - AutoCAD MEP, & A360 Collaboration for Revit, etc.)

• Create and utilize CAD templates.

• Modify existing drawings from marked up redline changes or sketches.

• Maintain and update drawing files.

• Coordinate schedule to accommodate needs from multiple project teams. Adjust for changing priorities per project schedule and needs.

• Assist team members to meet established standards and commitment dates as work schedule permits.

• Communicate effectively with company personnel, customers, other trades and suppliers verbally and in writing.

• Demonstrate a professional attitude when approaching work assignments.

• Show awareness of deadlines in completing tasks on time.

• Complete other duties and projects as assigned.

• Commitment to development objectives along with commitment from company to further development of skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

• Individual must possess vocational degree, enrolled in drafting program, and/or equal work experience of 2D/3D CAD/Revit drafting.

• Robotic Total Station experience a bonus

• Construction experience a bonus

• Self-motivated, independent thinker, detail oriented and quick to pick up design concepts.

• Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks with awareness of deadlines and expectations.

• Must be competent Microsoft office

• Individual must have experience creating and modifying drawings from written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to travel throughout South Carolina

Working Conditions:

• Office environment requiring sitting and standing.

• Construction site environment, exposing employee to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk.

• Valid driver's license and insured personal transportation are required for travel to various job sites.
