Primary responsibilities of the Project Superintendent are to ensure the overall day-to-day supervision of field related construction activities accomplishes company goals through; a safe work environment, effective planning & scheduling, cost control, quality control, coordination of trade partners, as well as strengthening relationships by ensuring the highest customer satisfaction.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain Owner, Architect, Trade Partner & Supplier relationships

  • Ensuring that all projects are performed in accordance with contract and quality standards

  • Scheduling and directing the daily activities of work and taking necessary action to assure that the project objectives of cleanliness, safety, price, schedule, quality and process are met

  • Maintaining daily paperwork; daily logs and field reports, schedule updates, RFIs and E-mail correspondence

  • Implementing project schedules ensuring upcoming events are on track and being proactively attended to

  • Promoting and maintaining safety, health and cleanliness on the jobsite

  • Conducting and/or attending pre-construction, progress and other project and staff meetings

  • Participating in training and other forms of continuous improvement initiatives


  • 5+ years of experience in supervising commercial construction projects

  • Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or related field a plus but not required

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours

  • Excellent organizational, Communication, leadership and problem solving skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

  • Experience with Procore construction management software

  • Ability to travel within South Carolina based on project location

The position is responsible for one or more paper machines for all shifts and reports to the Paper Mill Manager.
