About the Job:

The Construction Superintendent reports to the VP of Construction and manages all aspects of construction at the assigned project site. Primary responsibilities include working directly with the Construction Manager and the VP of Construction to derive and define scopes of work, track the project budget and maintain the project timeline.


  • On site, the Superintendent coordinates all subcontractors and oversees the day-to-day activities of construction, including scheduling, inspections, quality control, safety, monitoring of construction budgets, and accountability for all related expenditures.

  • Work closely with Project Management for utilities, permits, plan checks, and Certificates of Occupancy to obtain all necessary approvals.

  • Direct subcontractors and subordinates.

  • Provide periodic written reporting and scheduling updates.

  • Evaluate situations and render decisions on certain issues without immediate supervision.

  • Understand and implement OSHA safety requirements site wide.

  • Knowledgeable of SWPPP requirements site wide and mitigate any impact to the outlying community.

  • Maintain a safe and compliant work site on a daily basis.

  • Relate favorably with others beyond giving and receiving instructions; performs work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others and responding appropriately.

  • Effectively influences people on a consistent basis.

  • Make generalizations, evaluations or decisions without immediate supervision.

  • Accept and carry out responsibility for direction, control, and planning.

  • Must attend company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which, from time to time, may include overnight stays at locations away from the employee's home.


  • Minimum ten years overall experience in construction supervision.

  • 5-7 years of experience in the construction of affordable multi-family residential projects.

  • Experience working with city and other inspectors on construction projects.

  • Be proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook and Project software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Demonstrate a professional demeanor.

  • Higher education or technical training a plus.

This is an opportunity to join the expanding Audio Visual Integration installation team of a well-established and growing technology company. We are looking for a motivated individual with 6-8 years' experience with custom AV/VTC commercial installation projects. This is an in-the-field job and this person will work side-by-side with other field personnel. Candidates must have experience with high performance audio video (A/V) and Videoconference (VTC) systems. Note: This is NOT a live event or production support position. Responsibilities * Install commercial audio video (A/V) systems and A/V control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX). * Install, configure, and test Videoconference (VTC) products (Polycom, Cisco, LifeSize, etc.). * Read and understand AV engineering drawings, proposals, RFPs, Specifications, Etc. * Pull and terminate AV cables. * Responsible for leading/driving crews and holding personnel responsible for understanding drawings and the project implementation methods and practices. * Responsible for material lists (accurate description with part numbers, if applicable), to be compiled and provided to the warehouse for delivery to sites before work starts. Also, shall coordinate return of unused or malfunction material to warehouse during construction or once job is complete. * Responsible to keep client sites clean and free of trash and debris during construction and at end of daily shift. Coordinate with warehouse for trash disposal. * Responsible to call in Purchasing/Warehouse for equipment, tools, ladders and rentals needed for the job and to call warehouse for return of rentals and said items. * Responsible to update OPS (and, when applicable, PMO) on the progress of the project via daily and weekly reports. Reports shall list material installed and labor hours spent at each site and any info requested by OPS/PMO. * Responsible to submit requests to OPS for staffing and schedule technicians, in most efficient way, to sites and shall comply with the overall project planned schedule. * Responsible to create a project plan. Project plan shall show time needed for installation and shall be shared with site leads for proper execution. * Responsible for managing the project hours onsite to maintain or improve final profit margins established during the project proposal and submittal phase. * Responsible to inspect completed work and ensure that installation was done in accordance with the drawings, SOW, Specifications and RFPs. * Responsible to interact with Client and Customer field personnel in a professional manner regarding installation, progress, issues, final inspection and training/testing/acceptance. * Responsible for daily logs in terms of accuracy and prompt submission to office. * Responsible for auditing the job in terms of labor and material installed once completed. * Responsible for installed equipment, tuning, functioning, labeling, asset tagging for proper closeout documentation. * Responsible to enforce safety rules and practice on sites. * Responsible to keep a complete record of events, occurrences and other facts that may appear insignificant at the moment, but nevertheless, could be very important in a future investigation. Document this information along with materials installed to date on the Daily Report. * The use of personal journals is recommended as well.Inspect and document (via photos) the site with the installation crew to ensure that no changes or unforeseen conditions exist prior to construction. Particular attention should be paid to the safety of the public as well as the crew. * Responsible to gather redlines and ensure their daily updates and turned to CAD once project is completed. * Build custom wiring harnesses from engineering drawings, which includes soldering, crimping, and assembling cable connectors as directed. * Mentor less experienced technical staff. * If minimal crew and personnel are working due to lack of sites open for installation, Superintendents shall assume the responsibilities of working technicians (when needed). * Responsible for documenting installed material and equipment via photos. Such photos shall be submitted to the Final Doc manager once the job is completed. * Maintain cleanliness and safety on site. * Other duties as assigned by OPS and PMO Management Qualifications Required Qualifications: * High School diploma or GED * 6-8 years' experience installing commercial AV systems * Must have experience leading crews from 4-10 techs on projects from start to finish * Must have experience running and terminating all types of cables and connections * Experience installing major AV industry products (Crestron, Extron, AMX) * Experience making field adjustments and corrections to drawings and system designs * Experience 'Loading' different media code and firmware (Biamp, Crestron, AMX, Extron) * Experience installing Videoconferencing systems (Polycom, Cisco, LifeSize) * Ability to read Blue Prints and understand Engineered Designs * Excellent communication skills; strong customer service skills * Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook Preferred Qualifications: * Industry certifications a plus (CTS, CTS-I, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, AMX) * 2-3 years' experience terminating fiber preferred * Full knowledge of color codes * Ability to organize work * Ability to work under pressure * Basic mathematical skills * Basic Audio technology knowledge * Basic Video technology knowledge * Basic Control System Technology knowledge * Ability to read blueprints * Possess in-depth knowledge of all of the technical disciplines required of Level 2 and 3 Technicians * Ability to oversee, physically perform, and train people in the tasks associated with installing, maintaining, testing and troubleshooting * Complete knowledge of Star, 10bse-T, Bus and Ring topologies * Complete knowledge of intra-building connectivity for both horizontal and vertical distribution systems * Ability to adapt physical environment and changes in the environment and engineer a solution Physical Requirements * Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screen, physical, background check, and Livescan fingerprint checks * Must have reliable transportation (able to accommodate a 6' ladder), valid driver's license, and own tools * Must be able to lift 50 pounds; must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and climb Vectorusa Rancho Cucamonga CA
