A well-established GC is seeking Construction Superintendents to join their team in North Carolina. They are seeking progressive candidates with at least 5 years experience. Candidates must have either multi-unit, commercial office or hotel/hospitality experience

  • Oversee all aspects of a construction project from planning to implementation
  • Allocate resources for assigned projects
  • Supervise onsite personnel and contractors
  • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients
  • Negotiate with contractors to receive reasonable order costs


  • Familiarity with construction management software
  • Progressive mind-set
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Multi-unit, Commercial Office or Hospitality
  • 5-20 years experience

VIEW JOBS 1/22/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-22T00:00 As a Superintendent, you will schedule, coordinate and supervise activities of workers (laborers, operators, carpenters, finishers, etc.) engaged the project; typically supervising multiple foremen. Responsibilities * Promote and enforce craft and subcontractors compliance with project safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented * Mentor and coach foremen as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements * Conduct and/or direct project safety meetings * Supervise foremen assigned to area of responsibility and provide liaison between field engineering, and crafts to ensure compliance of construction with drawings and specifications * Plan, direct and supervise workers engaged in bridge construction. Activities include planning, organizing, directing and controlling methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, work schedule and reviewing documentations * Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors * Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used May coordinate with equipment superintendent to insure constant flow of materials * Ensures that workers are supplied with tools, materials and equipment for completion of project * Assist in jobsite setup * Resolve construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required * Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e., Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule * Ensures workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties * Coordinating sub-contractors onsite * Maintains knowledge of Flatiron's company values and strategic plan * Support published corporate policies * Perform additional assignments per management's direction Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution or equivalent related industry experience and/or training * 5+ years of heavy highway or civil construction related experience and/or training * Management experience of medium sized teams required * Advanced knowledge of tool & equipment safety Flatiron Construction Corp.
