Job Description:* 5+ yrs automation experience including mechanical/electrical/control design * Background in PLC programming/troubleshooting (Allen Bradley/Siemez/Beckoff)* Experience in working with numerous city, county, state, and federal permitting authorities.* CHST, CMSE, and or CSP preferred. * Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment. * Background in high voltage power generation, heavy civil, wastewater, manufacturing. * Working knowledge of OSHA, UBC, ISO, ANSI, RIA, NFPA, GB, codes. * Desire to do the impossible with a positive and professional "never say die" attitude. * Ability to communicate clearly and interface with team members. * Strong desire to be a part of a world class team focused on achieving amazing results.
Equipment Safety Specialist
* Promote and protect Tesla's reputation as a cutting-edge company producing the world's most exciting cars and shifting the paradigm of personal transportation worldwide. Manage multiple construction projects through design, build and qualification. * Provide field safety oversight of work activities. * Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal health and safety regulations. * Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies, plans, and procedures. * Lead and document accident/incident investigations to determine root cause, prevention and corrective measures. * Attend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programs. * Participate in and contribute to project planning and hazard analysis. * Perform frequent combined safety and environmental inspections and procedural audits in the field and have the skills, knowledge and ability to take immediate corrective action if required. * Review equipment design to ensure equipment and tooling adheres to ANSI, ISO, RIA, NFPA, GB and OSHA equipment, machinery, and electrical safety standards components that could be affected by the new equipment. * Provide continuous support to Engineering staff from concept to design to SOP* Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT) to ensure manufacturers have incorporated applicable ANSI and OSHA standards into the equipment. * Perform (SAT) Site acceptance testing, to insure equipment is safe for operation. * Conduct safety functionality testing on newly installed or modified equipment to ensure the safety control devices perform as intended by the safety logic. * Provide Safety designs and concepts for new/legacy equipment that adapt to factory needs. * Perform Safety Audits to insure machinery is operated as designed and all safety devices are functioning as intended. * Perform risk assessment on production lines and equipment according to machinery safety standards. * Follow technological improvements and provide counseling on machinery safety * Manage change requests on safety systems and devices for existing equipment * Practice and maintain strong communication between all organizations * Designing safe work spaces and creating policies for employees to follow that minimize job-related hazards. * Review existing Tesla standards and improve according to current trends & needs
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Occupational Health/Industrial Hygiene or a related discipline; or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.* 5+ yrs of hands-on experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities (Automotive, machine integration, semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.).*
