The department of Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) is hiring a Construction Project Manager to skillfully manage a wide variety of construction projects involving diverse building types using collaborative delivery methods including CM at Risk, Design/Build and Job Order Contracting.

PDC Construction Project Managers lead professional teams to build innovative facilities in a beautiful campus environment for diverse clients including scientists, physicians, educators and coaches. Duties & Responsibilities Effective Project Leadership: Demonstrates successful project leadership by defining, developing and meeting project requirements, goals, budget and schedule for design and construction deliverables for construction projects.

Oversees, directs and coordinates project budget and schedules while monitoring scope/quality. Manages project efforts in accordance with ABOR/UFS-PDC policies, guidelines and procedures. Takes ownership and is the champion of assigned projects or project tasks.

Effectively leads all aspects of the project, maintaining high standards through effective leadership. Facilitates and seeks fair, consensual resolution to project challenges, issues and conflicts. Facilitates Project Coordination and Communication:

Serves as project representative and provides appropriate opportunities to facilitate input from project delivery team and other stakeholders. Translates input to project results to create a successful project. Coordinates and communicates project-related issues and responses.

Reports current status and coordinates future milestones of project to all relevant stakeholders and supervisors. Facilitates scheduling and coordination of work to avoid disruption of campus operations when possible. Provide Project Review and Management:

Reviews project design documentation and manages construction phase to ensure project requirements and that the quality and service of the design are in compliance with University design standards, and appropriate codes and standards. Ensures quality and success of design and construction by management of design and/or construction teams; review of construction documents; diligent observation of work; and monitoring of the warranty phase. Effectively negotiates contracts, agreements, and related documents.

Provides timely and accurate management of documents and processes. Construction Administration: Monitors progress of construction and aligns project budget and expenditures while forecasting projected costs through the end of the project closeout and warranty period.

Reviews and approves design and vendor Invoices, GC Pay Applications, Change Orders, contractor contingency use and related ASI/RFI scope and costs. Works closely with contractors and vendors on owner furnished and owner installed furniture and equipment such as structured cabling, AV systems, furniture, and miscellaneous equipment procured directly by owner. Demonstrate Departmental Values:

Develops and improves processes, resources, standards, and professional and personal skills. Acts as a valued resource, leads in areas of expertise, and shares lessons-learned. Contributes positive input to efforts such as Search Committees and Process Improvement Teams.

Assists with maintenance of the Design & Specifications Standards Manual. May serve as department representative on ad hoc committees. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.

Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy . Preferred Qualifications Experience working in the design and construction industry. Experience working at university, educational, or process-oriented environment.
